• was this issue ever solved?

  • I have a lot of mix emotions right now. I have been working on the loop attack for a while now, months to be exact. And you fixed it in less than half a day. Thanks a lot I really appreciate all of your help as well as your help. I do have one more question if you don't mind. For some reason all the enemies don't do the same thing. Its seems the other enemies don't function the same way as the first one did, some do but the majority of them don't. I added a for each event but that didn't help at all. Do you know what could be causing this? If you can't help it's fine, I haven't had a chance to really look into it because I'm still at work. Once again thanks for your help.

  • Ok, I'm at work now but I will take a look at it as soon as I get a opportunity.

Thanks for your help and quick response, I'll let you know how it goes.

  • I've tried asking this question before but I'm guessing I'm asking the wrong way.

I have an enemy that moves left and right, when he hits a boundary the enemy moves the opposite way. When the player is in line of sight of enemy the enemy will chase the player as long as he is in line of sight. When the enemy is close enough to the player the enemy attacks the player. (all of this is functioning properly) The problem I am having is when the enemy attacks, it attacks one time and stay in that last frame. I want the enemy to keep attacking until the player is out of attack range. I chose the loop option on the animation but the animation will not loop.

In order to run the capx you will have to have the rex_platform_moveto plugin.

If anyone can offer any type of support I'll try it I've been working on the one thing for a long time and I think can't get it to work. I guess people don't have this issue much because I can't find any threads about it and the threads I do find don't work for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Ok, So I have went a different route and downloaded a plugin and it helped with different aspects of my game but not the initial problem I had with the attack. I tried making the enemy attack initiate every 2 seconds but it plays the animation too fast. I am officially lost at this point and I don't know what else I can possibly do. Attached is a link to the capx.

Can someone please help with this I don't know what to do.

  • Ok, I've tried to change around the enemy movement and attacking events but I'm getting the same results. when the enemy is in a certain range of the player the enemy stops and attacks once. I would like the enemy to keep attacking as long as the player is within that range.

Can someone please help with this?

  • OMG lol, I've never done that before but I'll look into it now.

Thanks for your help so far.

Ok, So I changed the file and made it so anyone can view the file...hopefully that means download it too.

  • Try Construct 3

    Seems to work

  • Thanks for keeping the file available in your Dropbox

  • Yea I read that, but at 250rep I should be able to paste a plain text link. Every time i try it shortens the url. I'll place the link to the file from my google drive below so you can see what happens.

  • Why are you worried about time, just go for. No need to be in a rush. Just work on the game a little before you go to sleep. Find any spare time you have and just put 30 minutes to an hour into it.

  • I start with a game design document. From there i just add simple sprites to try and get out the main ideas of the concept. If it's fun or I see potential in the game I keep going. If not I scratch that idea and keep moving.

With that being said, You have to fine your own pipeline and see what works for you. If you do any creative work now use that same pipeline and see if it translate to your game design process.
