  • I think I know what's going on, it has to do with the CORS feature but I understand that there are some parameters you can add to the plugin to allow such calls. My queston is, if I create the iframe from the library, are those parameters included bu default or is it better to put the object outside the layout to allow external contents?

This is what I get after inspecting the target frame where the youtube video should be displayed:

  • That's actually a good direction because now I know it has to be with my browser/internet connection. Thanks!

  • Hello!

I'm having a hard time trying to load a youtube video through the iframe plugin. Basically I'm loading the /embed related URL but in both preview/published cases I'm just getting a black screen. Furthermore, I've tried these settings:

    - Navigate to URL > Get black screen

    - Display HTML string > Nothing happens (actually I haven't got to understand these options very well)

    - Load a web page with the embedded youtube video on it > Black screen

    - When I open the target page with the browser plugin it shows the video so It definitely has to do with the iframe plugin

So I'm not quite sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or at least don't know whare to start. Any ideas? Pls let me know, thanks!

I don't have the .ai version since I made them entirely on an iPad, but I think I could include an .svg version for easy editing. I'll update them shortly. Thanks for your comment!

They also come in three different parts (head, body, tail) so you can create new airplanes by combining each other.</p><h3>More to come</h3><div class="deshr"></div><p>For this set I'll shortly include a .capx file where the airplanes are created from random parts and fly through the screen at different speed so you get new airplanes all the time.</p>

<p>This is a perfect music loop for endless running games, which means that is cool enough to get the melody stuck in your head after playing but soft enough to avoid looking for the mute sound button when playing. The .zip file contains both .wav and .mp3 versions.</p>

  • City Downtown kit — Now for sale in the Scirra Store!

    https://www.scirra.com/store/backgrounds-for-games/city-downtown-kit-2059

<p>This is a pretty good background for horizontal scroller games, it comes with a fully composed background image and the building components (roofs, windows, bricks) on separate grayscale .png files. The reason for the grayscale is to allow you change the color through hue/saturation (with Photoshop, Gimp or any image editing software) easily.</p>

  • Sounds great! I'll definitely look into that, appreciate it!

  • I have intended to use Construct2 for a complete mini-games suite to teach children how to take care of the environment on remote locations with limited access to technology. It's pretty much like equipping a guy with an iPad, a mini-projector, a bicycle and improvise a gaming room by projecting the mini-games on a wall and using the iPad as a touch-pad, actually. I'm just learning more about Construct 2 capabilities and understanding it a little better to keep moving forward with this project (I'm designing sprites and writing game ideas in the meantime)while it gets funded so I'll come back with further news and findings as I get more substantial results. Construct 2 looks like a way solid platform to make these ideas happen.

  • Hello guys,

Alright, I realy need your help. I'm about to start working on a pretty large project (a 48 mini-games suite) so I'm looking for a practical and versatile solution for no-hard-coding based Game Creation platforms, finding Construct 2 as the best one around. So I started with a simple mini-game concept and got let's say a decent progress over there, however I need your help with some "tactical" approaches to the game mechanics I'm willing to define, that way I could determine whether to keep using CT2 or continue looking for other options. Let me explain the game experience in a nutshell:

    1. The user gets 4 square pieces around a center button. Every piece contains a part of a main shape; the user needs to rotate these pieces on their center point (by tapping over them) to get this final shape.

    2. When user taps on the center button, these four squares move to the center (towards it, actually) and the system validates the final shape; if correct, these pieces move out and the background is revealed, otherwise they return to their initial position.

(It seems I don't still have reputation to attach images so just let me know if you guys need a visual aid for the points explained above).

So this is what I got so far:

    • Assign variables to piece position in order to validate the final result later on.
    • Rotate pieces (without animation, sadly).
    • Bring pieces to center animation (while touching the center button, does not work on single touch).

And this is what I'd need to know how possible it is on CT2:

    • Disabling interactions (I mean to disable actions over the pieces when moving to the center).
    • Moving/rotating sprites on tap (e.g. like moving a sprite to/by X,Y values in 2 seconds).

As mentioned, I just need an overall approach to this kind of mechanics, I really have a good feeling about CT2 capabilities. Thank you all and merry Xmas!
