    I was working on a multi language project, some asian, some not and encountered the wrapping problem where asian text was all in one line since there was no space in the translations. With your new behavior, it's working perfectly now ! It saved me from a HUGE hassle ! Thanks again !

  • Ok so to answer myself. Actually the problem came from the wrapping of the textboxes. Since chinese has no space in it, I had to dynamically change the wrapping of all my text to "character" instead of "word". Construct 2 doesn't have this feature natively but there's a third-party behavior doing it :

  • Hi,

    I created a game with the nwjs exporter and I have a few chinese players which reported some text problem (The text string has sometimes some unwanted line breaks and the characters at the right end are cropped) which does not appear during my test. I use Windows in english but they have Windows in chinese and I'm guessing that's where the problem comes from. They advised me to add the chinese pak files to the project.

    How can I do that and where to get the file ? How to tell nwjs to load the chinese pak file when the player choose the chinese language ?

    I tried to search the forum for chinese locale and pak file but no result so far I also know nwjs uses chromium so I checked the chromium files and found some reference to zh-cn.pak but I'm not sure it's the good file nor how to load it.

  • Thanks ! When I first started the Greenlight campaign, I used graphics I made myself but it was not good enough. I hired an artist to change ll the graphics and the result is quite nice indeed. But this forced me to restart the campaign to get better results with this update.

    Promoting a game is so complicated :p

    I wanted to let you know that Spooky Heroes has received a complete graphic overhaul by a professional artist and the website has been updated as well to improve the professional feeling of this project.

    The update is now finished and a demo is available on the website : spooky-heroes.com

    The full release will be available next week on the website and eventually on Steam if the game can pass the vote on Steam Greenlight.

  • Indeed, after reading the SDK documentation a little more, it appears to be used only to extends plugins, behaviors and effects. Nothing for creating automation for repetitive tasks.

    Maybe in Construct 3 then !

    I created one folder per character with its name and created one sprite sheet per animation with the corresponding animation name.

    I was wondering if there would be any way to create a script to automatically update the 15 animations of the 35 characters since the task is quite repetitive and long.

    I'm familiar with Javascript but not with Construct 2 SDK. So is it possible to create a script for such a task and which objects and methods will I need ?

  • Got it ! I'll make them unique to be sure but my game use a custom save system and doesn't use multiplayer object anyway.

    Thanks a lot for the explanations and sorry for the bother. It's really nice to see a developer personally answering to all those bug tickets. It must be a lot of work and I'm really happy I choose Construct 2 for this.

  • HI Ashley,

    After checking the content of the project folder, it appears I might have found a solution to retrieve at least 80% of the project.

    The bug actually only erased 2 Sheets and layout XML files while the rest of images and other XML were fine in the caproj folder.

    So I just replaced the missing XML by their old version from 1 month ago I had in another caproj folder and I also replaced the caproj which was corrupted by the 1 month old version

    Of course, a lot of objects were missing and the caproj had a lot of missing layouts and event sheets. However each time I opened the caproj, Construct 2 displayed a warning message with the file and line having the missing object and I've been able to add manually the XML node missing each time. Also put the missing object into the correct family I could remember.

    Overall, I had about 40 missing objects and using this method allowed me to keep the objects, conditions and events from the latest version. Only 2 layout got switched back to their 1 month old version but it's better than losing everything and they're not that big.

    The only thing I did not figure out in the XML files is the SID attribute in each nodes. Since I duplicated similar object to fill the blanks, I have many identical SID in the new objects. I thought it might be a problem but after successfully launching the caproj while having most of the recent version content and also successfully launching the game in the browser, I'm not sure what this SID is used for. Is it just a random unique ID created by the software or is there a real use to it ?

    I know using such a method must sound horrible but so far, it seemed to work fine. As long as it works, I don't mind using it.
