  • Some of these conditions can be true at the same time. The first two conditions overwhelm any other events. The is blocking event should also specify not moving. The is moving event should also specify not attacking and not blocking etc.

You're literally my savior my dude, thanks for the help yet again! It probably won't be the last time I need it! XD

  • Just for a bit of background, I'm making a prototype for a top down 2D hack and slash game, in the game, the player can block against attack in the direction they're facing. However, for some reason, the animation that plays while the player is moving whilst blocking doesn't move and just stays locked on the first frame.

Some screenshots of relevant code here,

And also a Google Drive link to the project,

If anyone could point out where I've gone wrong, I'd really appreciate it!

  • Thanks a ton my dude! I think I'll stick with lionz idea for this one but it's handy to know that I can definitely do this if needs ever be!

  • You made the basic_attack variable but didn't use it. If you add a condition basic_attack is false then it locks the player out from pressing up until everything has finished.

You've saved me again! And honestly that was my first thought, and I've already forgotten why I abandoned it.

  • This code I've got going on here is designed to make sure that the blue man can't interrupt an ongoing attack before he starts another one, as you can see though it's not very efficient.

One idea I had was to make a wild card after the underscore in the animation name but I don't know if it's possible.

If it is, how do I do it and if not, what's a good alternative?

    Many thanks!

  • Not if it's one frame but feel free to share a working link

Try that? Sorry, I don't use Google Drive for sharing all that often tbh.

  • Link doesn't work but make sure the image points are applied to the whole animation not just the first frame.

The animation is only 1 frame long though, could that be causing the issue?

  • This code is designed to make a fireball spawn on the blue mans fist to act as a hitbox when he's attacking, I have the image point set on the end of his fist, but it always spawns on his torso instead! Any fixes would be appreciated!

Link to the full file is here if anyone has a moment to spare!
