  • jayderyu - so you're hoping that C3 will be a big overhaul for the inner workings of C2, eh? As it stands, I'm mostly on the surface but I can see how advanced users might want more. Heck, I might want more if I knew what to want! Anyway, thanks for the in-depth explanation.

  • jayderyu - OK, so you are talking about making fundamental changes "under the hood" and allowing users to have more access, right? I got ya. I'm not an uber-geek when it comes to this stuff, just sort of on the surface right now.

  • jayderyu - C2 is still being updated all of the time. Could these improvements you speak of be integrated into what's already there? I'm not against the development of C3, of course, I just don't want Ashley to quit working on C2 yet. Will he hire more people? I don't know. If these changes aren't being made now, what makes you think moving to C3 will fix that? For now, is dreaming about C3 just indulging in wish fulfillment fantasies? That being said, I'm all for enhancements as well. I'm not an advanced user - I'm mostly sticking to what's already there but I can see that other users might have different needs.

  • Agreed!

  • C2 happens to be the software that we're all using to make our games so why be focused on something that doesn't even exist yet and why be so eager to throw C2 away and have to pay for the next version? C2 is still getting regular updates, it hasn't been abandoned yet by any means. It has come a long way since I started using it a year and a half ago. It seems wise to me to focus on making it better for the time being. Yes, there may be a C3 someday but that day isn't today. Let's focus on what we have. Thanks Ashley for continuing to work on C2 and for not abandoning it yet. At least let me get my game done!

  • And if you still have problems with NW.js (as I do), you can try out node webkit 10.5 which at least previews perfectly for me and others (I haven't tried to export with it yet):

  • Try Construct 3

  • No problem!

  • - you can use the "anchor" behavior along with a 0,0 parallax to keep your controls on the same relative spot on the screen. It's quick and easy.

  • - WebStorage depends on cookies, right? I would hate for my player's save games to get erased if they clean their cookies. Do you think that the problem is a bug in the software or some disorder in the event system?

  • Release 195. At first it seemed like it was working well but I noticed these association problems. Not sure where the problem is. Very frustrating.

  • - thanks for the suggestion, I started without the no save behavior and was getting the same broken results after loads - that's why I tried it.

  • After the load, the latest collision sprite to be spawned will get all of the spriter objects of that type of enemy applied to it:

The event sheet being used has many event sheets attached - not sure if this is part of the puzzle or not:

I have applied the "no save" behavior to all of the sprites and spriter objects involved in case that's part of the problem but that doesn't help. I've been banging my head against this problem for a few days now and am not making any headway. I would be grateful for any ideas of what the problem may be. Thanks, Morgan.

Sorry I had to post this in chunks but google drive seems to be showing it's *** today.
