  • I'm using a separate Sprite (PlayerDetect) for my prototype as well. I think its smoother this way. Although I ran across several problems related to this.

But its often a matter of small adjustments.

I agree, animations should have same frame size. I had exactly the same problem when using different animation sets which had different sizes.

  • I move one of the image points of the animated sprite and not the PlayerDetect. I also used this on a cinematic platformer with no issues.

also, actually resolved this by simply forcing the first frame of the climb animation in place. Now works perfectly.

  • Because I haven't found a better way to do the climb_ledge properly brunopalermo

remus B I know there's always a solution. I just want to avoid making people load a bigger file size which uses many plugins they might not have installed.

I'm simply trying to understand what might cause this or if someone else had the same issues.

  • Actually, having another small issue with this. Again, sorry if I don't post a capx since I'm too advanced in the development of my prototype.

The issue is: Currently the origin point of the grab_ledge animation is set at the center bottom of the sprite and then during climb_ledge animation I switch it to the top of the sprite. I'm having a small ghost frame in-between that seems to move down really fast and then go back to the position (top of the ledge). The frame moving weird seems to be grab_ledge one.

    Thanks in advance.

  • ekajuan, Yes, if you want to pause your game, create a variable that establishes that when the time scale is 0 (therefore game is paused), the group for the movements is disabled and then enabled back once the game is no longer paused.

Looks fantastic. Love the artstyle and animations. Reminds me a bit ICO, Castlevania and Dark Souls. Hope to see more soon

    Cheers

  • Hi!

I've been having troubles for already 2 days trying to get the climb animation to work. Actually what happens is that the Player first goes up to the top of the tile (New X, Y position) so the animation is played not while climbing but instead on the new position. I'm sorry I cannot post a capx file since I'm quite advanced in my prototype. Hope the screenshots can be of any help.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I think it would be interesting to have Art Talk concerning how to approach art for games, and this would be great even for artists.

  • thanks and no problem.

  • Problem Description

I cannot seem to be able to switch the grid size back. Its presently stuck on my last settings. Usually I change it back and forth to place different objects so this is the first time that I have this problem. im presently using C2 r189 beta release.

I dont attach a cpx file since this seems to be related with the software. Please could anyone let me know?.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Im having the same problem. At the beginning I thought it was hardware related since I just bought a new machine. In the old machine the game was playing at 75FPS and now 60 but with a lot of jerkiness. When updating my video card drivers everything got fixed for a limited time. But now I still have the same problem.
