  • Hi! I'm actually an artist but I somehow started coding in asm/pascal/C on DOS ages ago, then dropped coding till when I started using javascript/python some years ago, and in meantime I messed with various engines and libraries like rpgmaker, ren'py, allegro, pygame, flixel, etc. The only engine I spent some more serious time with was AGS (adventure game studio) which I like a lot but that has some shortcomings (not truly multiplatform, some technical limitations). I did play with Construct Classic in the past and liked it, so I decided to give Construct 2 a try: in beginning it was feeling weird cos I could not write code at all but then I got more used to it and I'm now liking it a lot, so I'm moving my current game development from AGS to C2 :)

  • Hi, I changed the description of my game after updating it but the old description is still showing for it in New Games list and in my signature. The new description is showing when opening the game though.

    Another issue with the signature is that it shows </br> tags (the previous description had two newlines) though I only used bbcode for it.

  • Hi Kyatric! Using the Google Font fixed the issue and I was able to upload the game to Scirra Arcade. I'm not super happy with that, because the font I was using (Flixel's default one, http://www.dafont.com/nokia-cellphone.font) has different proportions and spacing compared to the Google Font I used as substitute (http://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Press+Start+2P) and I had to tweak all the layouts. I hope this gets fixed if possible, so that we can upload the games to Scirra Arcade using local fonts!

    On a side note, I can't see the custom fonts on any of the browsers I tested the menu with (latest ff, latest chrome, ie 10).

  • Hi there! When I try to upload my game to Scirra Arcade I get this error message:

    Zip contains file extensions not on the whitelist

    My game is under 10mb, doesn't use third party plugins, etc.

    After reading in the forum it seems it could be related to the presence of .css and fonts files (.eot, .ttf, .wof) and that removing them also removes the error message. This is not practical for me, because I really want to use the font I selected and on which I based the layouts.

    So the question is: is it a known issue? A design choice? How can I upload my games to Scirra Arcade and keep the local web fonts I'm shipping with them?

    EDIT: in meantime I did revert to Google Fonts.
