  • Yeah It looks like the duct Tape approch is the best way for now.The particle effect will be alot more realistic and the movements can be altered.The topic you posted i downloaded the capx but the clouds do not move at all when the player stands still.Thats what im aiming for.Thanks for the time you took out to post that link.

  • These are both great ideas,But is this the only way?I would think particles being used in that way would be bad on the framerate right? On the other hand i am a rookie so i really dont know thats why im asking you guys.Thanks for the replies it does mean alot to get help.

    I have looked everywhere on the site for a decent tutorial that showcases Clouds that autoscroll while your player stands still.I want to set my cloud tiles to different speeds making my game world come alive.I waqs wondering what i have to do to achieve this feature.I do know how to do this through code but Construct 2 works differnt as we all know.

Im trying to add more layers but when i do click the play button or if i show my sprite in Parallax view it vanishes.If one of the higher ups can help me or if anyone has had this issue please let me hear from you.Thank You.

    I figured It out everyone,I was not Manipulating Where the sprite would be once i clicked yes in the Parallax editer.Common Sense issue.Sorry

    I have been up all night prototyping and this just came to my mind alittle bit ago.I am wondering if there is a way for me to use Lighting similar to the lighting in Terraria.I want to give the player a a good feeling of night time.I plan to try and implement some night time effects in my Platformer project.If anyone has any advice im all ears.Thanks!

    I think you will like this, same link as before.

    I have adjusted the numbers so that you still have some Y scrolling but not enough that you lose view of any set of mountains.

    One thing to keep in mind with this is its based off how high your stage is, so if you doubled the height of the stage you would have to again adjust the Y values accordingly.

    This is exactly what i was looking to do!! I dont like this i LOVE it! This is also exactly the kind of smooth movement i was hoping to try and get.I think this should be somewhere on the Tutorial section you did an awesome job man.Thank you,You sir are getting credits in this game.

    And yes you are close,is there a way to make it so it sticks to the character that way but with no hesitation.All in all im just trying to keep the mountains in view nomatter where the player is at.I cant say thanks enough man you didnt have to go through everything you have.

  • I do apollogize for my lamen way of explaining this,Basicly i want to make it so all of my Mountains stay within my view when i change my Y movement without scewing up the X parallax movement of my Mountains.I know if i use the default Scoll TO function on my Backround it will screw with the X Parallax movement.I hope this helps alittle more than how i explained it in my last post.If not its ok i will just keep testing around a bit.
