  • Excellent art direction and it seems your game is running very smoothly. When you put enough time to it it can move towards something extremely beautiful like : "Dust: an elysian tail" :)

    Thank you! was "Dust: an elysian tail" made with construct 2? it looks really nice.

  • AH yes, If you have ever seen Rayman legends they do this type of look with the walkways. its really great, It gives it depth and i agree i love the way it looks I have some really good ideas in mind for the other levels.

    Amazing! Best graphics for this game style ever on C2!

    Hah thank you! I'm aiming for a Rayman Legends kind of game.

  • Try Construct 3

    Here is what I'm working on.

  • Can anyone help me embed my video? I can't seem to get it to work..

  • I just want to start by saying what a dream construct 2 is to use, since I am a digital artist I really couldn?t have asked for a better tool.

    I don?t have a blog for this or any kind of website for this at the moment, so I was hoping I could just update my progress here. I also don?t want to make this first post very long I would rather show what I?m working on so I?ll try to keep it short and to the point.

    I wanted to start a project which I would enjoy making, I wanted it to be colorful, fast paced, addictive, funny and I wanted it to make you stop and think and solve problems along the way. I wanted to make an action packed side scroller with adventure elements within.

    So I want to eventually show the storyboards and maybe get some feedback on that, but I won?t post those for a while until I work it out some more. So for now I?m going to show off some shots of the game and some animations. I would like to put up a video sometime soon. But for now I need to rework some of the scripts.

    Anyway after about a month of work more or less here is what I have for you.

    <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-vu3nw8auy4Q/UWIfqLBZ_1I/AAAAAAAAAT4/P_xofVHO_Dc/s683/battlecry+2013-04-07+17-45-44-64.jpg" border="0" />

    <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E2kgvJXr-xU/UWIfnzrWY9I/AAAAAAAAATo/de53dvsicXA/s683/battlecry+2013-04-07+17-45-36-55.jpg" border="0" />

    So some of the core gameplay requires heavy use of your shield, you can stun enemies for a short period of time, block and even deflect projectiles if timed right.

    <img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-AUIQLaxruzk/UWIfo69LaQI/AAAAAAAAATw/s9J-UcKZ44Q/s683/battlecry+2013-04-07+17-45-38-16.jpg" border="0" />

    Lots of blood! I have body parts with physics and some shoot a stream of blood.

    <img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-tQJLCGB8vC4/UWIfmOtDcOI/AAAAAAAAATg/jD6uOZJiOTc/s683/battlecry+2013-04-07+17-45-05-20.jpg" border="0" />

    <img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-uPRvWHc7XoQ/UWIfrcVtPQI/AAAAAAAAAUA/vVqnXl-RKx8/s683/battlecry2.jpg" border="0" />

    You also have a battle cry which powers up over time as you can see in this shot. There are currently two battle crys, a stationary shout that hits targets in front of you and behind you. The second shout makes you run at a high speed (basically warp a few feet) and kills everyone in a certain distance in front of you.

    *EDIT*

    I couldn't resist here is a short video of the game in action. keep in mind its very very early in development, picking up items as you can notice is wonky,I will be cleaning it up later.

  • Hello,

    I'm Alexander, I'm 25 years old. I first got into videos game when my dad got me the original Nintendo system, after that He bought our first PC an Intel i386. That's what really got me into video games, eventually moving on to our first Pentium computer. During that time playing old classics such as Lucasarts adventure games or Apogee Software until I finally hit 3d games and just fell in love with the idea of creating video games.

    I eventually started working on mods for half-life and unreal tournament, just making incomplete games more or less. Until I built up a portfolio and did co-op at a game publishing studio called Dreamcatcher games, (Which is now bankrupt or bought out I think.) I created some box art for a game called metal heart except the only thing in my layout that made it to the final design was the actual logo. The rest was done by another artist.

         A year later I started work at a small casual games studio, working on time management and hidden object adventure games some of the games I worked on were

    -3tones

    -nightfall mysteries: curse of the opera

    -nightfall mysteries: asylum conspiracys

    After that I moved on to create more hidden object games with another developer but this time I was doing all of the artwork.

    The game is INK: The Philosopher's Well <font color=blue>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWEAY_Ona-w</font>

    The game got canned due to some issues in the company.

    Those games I worked on previously were done with adobe flash.

    After leaving that job several months ago, I started to play around with game maker, and mmf I was going to try and create Hidden Object Games of my own, but I eventually gave up on the idea because the tools were just not what I imagined them to be.

    And then I found construct 2... and wondered where this tool was all my life. So far it does everything I throw at it, its really the perfect game creation tool for an artist. I decided to create a game with construct 2 that I would enjoy playing, not like the previous games I worked on such as casual hidden object games. but its really early in development, I can't wait to post pictures and videos so make sure to keep an eye out!

  • Haha thats a great game idea, brings back old memories of epic pinball. I totaly agree with RamPackWobble, zooming in and out will really change the experience.
