  • I'm trying to implement a function that uses the object created in the event before the function is called

    ie.

    On Function "Enemy Setup"

           <do enemy setup things; set variables, size, etc.>

    Every Tick

           Create Object Enemy

           Call "Enemy Setup"

    I think it has to do with parameters, but even reading the manual over and over I can't seem to figure out if it's possible.

    Can anyone shed some light on this?

  • notnsane - I've defaulted to SpriteFonts, and I'm never moving back :)

  • notnsane - honestly, the display time is so inconsistent, I switched to spritefonts. It's a bit more work, but worth it imo.

    However, you can try creating a splashscreen or menu that has all text objects on them that will hopefully load on that layout.

  • megatronx - I don't think construct changes the "resoultion" per se. It changes the window size, instead. So if you have a 1920x1080 image, regardless of the window size, it's still loading the full sized 1920x1080 image and just shrinking it.

  • Captain - thanks; all of the objects are on different layers. It's just strange that it's not staying on the proper layer to begin with...

  • I have a working UI system that loads the UI layout on the start of the game and then immediately goes to the main menu. I've created the same layers from the UI layout into every other layout so I can have full control over setting them invisible when I do/don't want to.

    However, I've always had issues with these - switching layouts when I want the global objects to appear are always fine, but when I go to a layout and want the objects hidden, it doesn't always work. On the UI layout, I have a function that loads every single object into the correct layer, and I call this function on the start of every layout, as well (ie, Set "healthbar" to layer "UI", etc).

    Am I doing something wrong?

  • syncdot - thanks! It does support the gamepad - you can edit your controls in the options menu as I personally am a mouse & keyboard gamer :P
