  • Sorry, i don't use vm's anymore, i have win8 as a second OS on my mac and construct2 works good, so i dont think that the problem is in c2, but, i found that you're not the first person who got video driver crash on parallel desktop. Try google "parallels driver crash", i found that some apps are really crashing on parallel win8, dunno why. Maybe try to ask the parallels support team, or just install win8 as second OS. Oh, and have you try to just reinstall your vm? Maybe this will help.

Thanks for your answer. According to what you are saying, I assume that you are running Windows on Mac via bootcamp, aren't you?

I am thinking about re-install the VM as well but got lots of stuff on Windows so I don't want to spend time backing it up and restoring it.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • A year ago it also worked fine on my Windows 8 via Parallel Desktop. Don't know why it doesn't work anymore. If it is possible, I prefer using Windows 8 as it is much more lighter. Otherwise, maybe I have to switch back to Windows 7 then.

Are you able to try to run Construct 2 on Win 8 via Parallel?

    Thanks.

  • Well, I spent lots of time working on this issue. Seems like when I run Construct 2 on Mac via Parallel Desktop, the graphic driver is not recognised.

  • Awesome, thanks. I will apply and see how it works. Will let you know soon.

    Cheers,

  • I think if you open the picture in Construct 2 itself, you will see a small crop icon in the middle top of the screen. It works exactly as using crop function in photoshop except that you don't have to open photoshop.

  • I had The same question and went and read The family chapter un The manual. If you put them all in a family and Then set The event create objet and select Thefamily as The object it will Take a random object from The family and créate it.

Yeah, that's how you can spawn random object. For random position, I think the easiest way is to spawn it using random X and Y like X(random(0, 300), random(0, 400)), etc.

Another way is that you can create some random spawn positions on the screen and numbered it. After that, create new object in random positions that you already set.

  • Hi guys,

I got a character which its face is always looking to the right side. I need this character to move left and right at a fixed position, so I set the Sin behavior for it and set its movement to horizontal.

When the character moves from the left side to the right side, it is fine because it always faces to the right side. However, if it moves back from the right side to the left side, its face still looking to the right side which looks weird. Is there any way I can use the mirrored attribute in this case.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi guys,

I intend to create a maze game. I have had a background with the Maze map on it already.

My question is: is there any way that I can turn the border of the maze to solid? What I am doing is that I have to put an invisible solid item over the border on the background. However, if the Maze is large, it would take too much time to get it done in the current way.

    Any suggestion please, thanks.

  • Previously, I was able to run it on my Mac Pro 13 using Parallel Desktop. However, I cannot run it anymore during some update last week. Don't know why hummmmm.

  • Hi,

I am running Construct 2 on OSX via Parallel Desktop on Windows 8. About 6 months ago, everything worked fine. After a while, I start working on some Construct 2 projects again. However, when I tried to open an existing project, Construct 2 crashed. I tried to download the latest version and run it again, but it didn't help.

Here is the error message I got when it crashed:

Anyone knows if Construct 2 made any change that prevents running Construct 2 on Mac or not? Or, does anyone run it on Mac at the moment?

I hope that there is some ways to run it on Mac using Parallel Desktop as I don't have pure Windows at the moment.

    Thanks.
  • Hi everyone,

Few weeks ago, Blackberry changed the way how to sign an application. Instead of using author.p12 and old csk file, now we have a token linked with the BlackberryID of the developer. In this situation, the step provided by Construct 2 when exporting to Blackberry 10 is no longer be suitable.

Actually, we still can use the old method. The problem is, I changed to a new laptop but I can no longer get the key file via email by requesting from Blackberry site. The only file I can request now is the token.csk file.

Do not know if there is anyone who has experience about this stuff.

    Thanks in advance.

  • LittleStain and Windwalker:

Thanks four your suggestions. Actually, both solutions work as I already tested it. Nevertheless, what I gonna do is that I set a second image point, then compare the bullet.Y with the enemy.Y as LittleStain suggested. It works as I expected.

    Again, thanks you guys. :D
