  • That's a problem for me as well, my situation is I never used any advanced tool for tilemaps, and wanted to understand how they work/how I can use them, and since I'm often offline, I always need an updated version of the manual. And the tilemaps section is not in the downloadable, I wonder how many elements are missing.

Ashley isn't there a way to make the manual update-able dynamically? Or simply include it as a html fully available component within Construct 2's installation updates? That would be perfect! Thanks in advance for any help : )

  • donelwero: thanks, will try that.

BluePhaze: I think donelwero was just kidding, about Brashmonkey being silent, lol : )

I'm even worrying about Brashmonkey because of these blazingly fast updates, they're doing an awesome work! Can't wait to test the second B6 pre-release (B 5.999992.)

  • donelwero:

Don't forget to save a new Scon file whenever you make new updates.

In my case, for now at least, what I do is:

1- I create a copy of the capx I'm working with,

2- delete everything related to the Scml I inserted into C2

3- insert the latest version of the Scml that contains updates

4- copy paste all events related to the Scml file, from the copy of the capx I created in step 1.

The reason I do this is that, whenever I insert an updated Scml into C2, I get a message telling me that something was still missing (sorry not on my PC right now, can't remember exactly.) But my method works for now, for my needs at least.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Cool! I'll start writing/sketching about the general concept, this game is going to be my second one to be started, 'cause still working on my first one :p good luck to everybody and have fun!

  • I'll participate, this will be my first time ever in a competition : )

  • Windwalker, I just took a look at Tulamide's event theme, looks very interesting, yet it doesn't inspire me to participate, I'd highly prefer a competition that is completely free from any imposed theme, or where the theme is so general that it guarantees a very wide space for freedom (unless it really clicks with me or stuff I'm fan about) :)

  • Hi!

I think it would be really great to encourage new or experienced C2 users to be more productive, or to train new skills, for example as a beginner, I was thinking of starting that habit of creating a game every week at least, in addition to continuing to work on my main project. And I think that a community activity can be really very cool.

Only thing I hope is that there are some developers who can have the time (or rather the purpose) to participate, good luck with this compeititon idea : )

  • I agree TELLES0808, but maybe not particularly because it's a common standard (showing shortcuts near contextual menu elements or displaying the shortcut when hovering with the mouse on the particular element etc,) but rather because it would be very useful and cool, Ashley, and because everyone else are offering that too, so it could be really cool and great and everything : )

  • Happy birthday Ashley, wishing you a good time : )

  • So you meant version r143 instead of 146, right? (Other than that, I don't have enough knowledge to answer your question.)

  • Why are you using this file hosting site if all it can be downloaded are *.EXE files? Please stop wasting people's time especially if they try to help, get a free drop box account : )

  • A first version of the user manual for Spriter is available :p

Mike has posted the link some hours ago today, and here is the link for the original thread:
