  • In addition to deletions, the dead links could possibly be caused by renamings of files and folders within Dropbox. The files aren't automatically deleted by Dropbox.

The developers are reworking the forum engine. I do like the feature request for allowing Scirra to host CAPX files. But, rather than being collected automatically, the may eventually be a button in the replies that says "Host file".

In the meantime, I guess we can all ask the creators of the CAPXs to write a short Tutorial (not in the forum) where it already provides the means of uploading CAPXs. And, if they don't want to submit the tutorial, then we can write a quick one so that all the future C2 users would have the files available.

  • Hmmm, RamPackWobble's solution should have worked.

Also, rather than repeating each of the events to each object separately, you could put all those solid objects in a `Family` and just do the event one time. (Note: The use of Families requires a paid version of C2.)

  • kcarlino, wow, this is a really great paint program, especially for touch! This is the first time I've seen the ability to really customize and combine the brushes like this.

The first time I tried your program, I thought it was a bug that the brushes were combining. But, after seeing your video, only then did I realize the vast potential in allowing that.

    Well done!

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I would like to try out your game, but after going through the loading screen, I waited for about ten more seconds on a blank white screen with nothing to do...

  • If you found something good a Fiverr, then that is probably the best deal that you are going to get. At least compared to the artists I know who charge $30-$50 per hour. I'm not sure what the average rate for the images you are looking for.

My recent solution though is to work with a budding artist, if you can find one. Then, trade credits in the games for the images. But, this may take a longer process than actually just paying for the graphics.

  • I haven't tried this yet, but maybe you can detect the different colors of the maze. For example, if your player sprite moves on a black area (wall), then move the player back. The user would perceive this as a solid wall.

Please let us know if you find a way that works.

  • Wow, congratulations! That's really good!

fjourde, did you make this using Construct 2? I was just wondering how you organized your project to support hundreds of levels.

  • Sounds great!

You may not be able to post links yet, but you should still be able to post URLs. Ex: dropbox [dot] com/your-link-here.html. Or, you may post a beta version of the game on the Scirra arcade, and users here can easily search for it.

  • Great game! I really like all the different shooting patterns from the bosses.

  • Magnatolia, if you say you are looking for art, then you will need to be much more specific. Great post above by Mike/Brashmonkey.

For a simple games, I typically divide assets up into three major categories: Sounds, Music, and Graphics. When I want the visual assets, I will generally refer to them as graphics. The one exception I can think of now is when I'm looking for an animation, then I may search for a "sprite sheet", which may still be of any type of quality.

I think of sprites as visual assets that go into a production. And, once a visual asset is in a game, then you can call it an object, graphic, image, and/or sprite.

Anybody else have thoughts on this?

  • Well, this is my first post of the day, so let's see...

EDIT: Hmmm, my Gravatar appears to be working still.
