What is happening, is it is a live stream of the entire Pokemon game. What controls the player is anyone that is typing into the comment box on the right, those commands are then recognized by the game and is simulating a player pressing down a button (a, or b) or going in any direction (left, down, right and up).

It is a different twist, given the idea that there is not ONE person controlling, its the entire Twitch live stream viewers trying to play the game at the same time.

I thought that it would be a really great opportunity to be creative inside C2 with this idea.

I should probably edit what I had said, I don't mean that this should be included in the debate, I should clarify and say meanwhile, with the debate.

But anywho, I will see what I can come up with in the meantime. Thanks for the support.

  • Hello Construct users alike, I have a very interesting topic to cover here.

Meanwhile with a heated debate on the new multiplayer engine to hit Construct 2 in the near future, I decided to open up a thread discussion to talk about, and dissect ideas regarding multiplayer being used as a social inputting device to create a game.

Check out Twitch TV social game-Twitch plays Pokemon

This idea is awesome, I would have never in a million years would have thought of this idea. I will be trying to create a Construct game that integrates a system similar to this off of Twitch, using the new multilayer engine! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I will need to create a local prototype of a system first to see if it is possible, which I am pretty sure with the right amount of work can be pulled off.

    Stay thirsty! <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • Hello everyone!

How would I use the lerp function, without the ease?

I am trying to compare the sprites Y position, but with lerp it takes forever for the sprite to ease to the destination coordinate.

How could I avoid the ease?

    Thank you <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Crosswalk will not feature ad capabilities until July.

If you are in a rush for ads, you could always use this plugin and display ads in a iFrame.

I would suggest using a database using MYSQL instead. In the long run it will save you much more time. Once you get some basic PHP down, it is easy to write to a database.

  • I would suggest to look at PHP tutorials first. Since if I showed you what to do you would not learn, and you would have no idea what I am talking about.

However, here is a tutorial to get you started.

  • I would suggest to just use PHP, and the AJAX object that comes with C2.

Do you have any knowledge in scripting with PHP?

Ahh I see. I was slightly confused by what type of local multiplayer. I thought maybe over LAN like how Minecraft can be played.

Thanks for clarifying, I am happy with online multiplayer.

I have missed the memo about whether this multilayer will be local, online or both. Which of these is it?

    Thanks

Here is your solution, use the bullet behavior, not set angle.

Also, make sure you set angle to 'no'.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

By the looks of it, you are a new Construct 2 user. So, welcome to the community.

There are many ways that you can achieve zombie movement, however it is more then likely someone is not going to do all the work for you.

I suggest looking through examples on the forum, reading tutorials and asking for tidbits of help, just not an entire example, as many forum users will not bend over and make an entire example for you.

If you had a working .capx file, showing you are at least giving minimal effort, that would be a different story as well.
