  • Are there events where you expect the playerbox to be colliding off screen?

  • The symptom you are complaining about is not going to be resolved running the game without a browser. Which may not be possible on Free edition.

How about you publish your event sheet and assets and we can have a look for you?

  • Instead of trying to "stretch" the card in a 2d space, why not create sprite animations? I think that solution will look much smoother.

  • "i cant find any real documentation"

Pretty sure if you read through the manual, you'll find your answer.

I gave you a example of how you could set it up. If you are trying to set up a game without going through any of the basic tutorials then you are in for a long haul.

  • Tyrant - 39 Million Plays - Multiplayer & Collectable Card Game

Backyard Monsters - 37.6 Million - Multiplayer & Proxy Fighter (Pokemon like)

These two games didn't make it into the Sample collected due to the nature of how Kongregate sorts.

These two games easily push Multiplayer to number one and CCG 2nd and Proxy Fighter games somewhere in 5th or 6th.

  • Some of you may be considering posting a game to Kongregate in order to enjoy the cash flow from Revenue Sharing rather than selling your game on your own or in conjunction with sales on other platforms.

For those that are wondering what games types get the most plays on Kongregate I am making this post to list the top 10 most played game types. If you are trying to run a business in game development it may be important to see where certain games thrive in what markets.

The following is based on multiple games in these genres that may include multiple listings for hybrid games. This sample is derived from top ranked games in their categories.

Top 10 Most Played Game Types on Kongregate:

    1. Defense      76.4 Million Plays

    2. Shooter      70.9 Million Plays

    3. Multiplayer      67.57 Million Plays

    4. RPG              60.3 Million Plays

    5. Launcher      57.17 Million Plays

    6. Racing              40.5 Million Plays

    7. Puzzle              39.4 Million Plays

    8. Platformer      27.1 Million Plays

    9. Simulator      16.85 Million Plays

    10. 3d shooter      13    Million Plays

  • Just sent a postcard last week. Hopefully it arrives sometime soon. The post will be very busy for the holidays so I don't expect it to arrive very quickly.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • There are a number of ways to do this depending on how the game mechanics work in your game.

You could set a sprite that represents gun1 and another for gun2. Depending on what they fire will come from those gun's custom imagepoint you can set with their separate events for how they fire. Create a Boolean for Equipped.

When gun 1 is selected set Boolean to true for Gun1 and false for the other. And vise versa.

When Equipped is true, create and pin the gun to your character sprite.

There are other methods available too, some may be even better than this. Try working through it and post what you have. Until you try to implement it you may find yourself coming back to the board again and again rather than learning how to set this events up yourself.

  • You don't need Internet access to preview (I use Free). You could have memory problems in the particular game you are trying to run or its resources are huge.

  • One thing that may help you to recruit an artist is having a list of assets you plan to have in the game that will need art work done for it. Also, having a rough estimating of pixel size the art should be will help unless you plan on re-sizing the work yourself, jeopardizing pixel quality and potentially messing up collision borders.

These are some core elements to game design and leading a team as a producer.

If you need art for placeholders check out the resource forum as there are usually links to free resources you can use in your first game design.

  • Looks great! I'll be updating my site soon as soon as I move servers and will be putting HTML5 elements created by C2 as banners and buttons while using wordpress to handle the rest.

A hybrid like this will allow the text content of my site to be searchable by search crawlers.

How about working on something and posting specifically what you need help with after you tried doing your own research.

Also, please try to name your forum posts something useful instead of the same thing every time you post.
