I used C2, and I've tried both, checked and unchecked.

Maybe because my game has 2 layouts, and only call the Gamee plugin for the first time on the second layout?

  • GameeApp

    Thank you for the reply!

I'll contact the email so it will investigate further why bitballoon didn't work.

  • GameeApp

Soo... You didn't actually answer my questions.

    • Should be at least 3MB or 5MB?
    • Should I send only a zip folder or a zip folder + link to emulator?
    • Why the emulator on localhost works fine, but when I uploaded to bitballoon and placed the link on the emulator says "Waiting for game to send init method"?

    Thanks

  • Hey,

    Laura_D

    GameeApp

I've got a few questions about how to submit my game:

    1) On the Contest Page: contest(dot)gameeapp(dot)com says that the game must be (should be) smaller than 3MB, but on the first page of this topic, says 5MB.

Which one is the correct? My exported folder is 3.10MB, and zipped is 2.28MB. Is this alright?

    2) On the Contest Page, says to send only a zip file to their e-mail. But here, is says to send a zip file and a link working on the emulator.

I could test on the emulator with localhost. But once I uploaded to bitballoon and put the link on the emulator, it didn't work. A message says: Waiting for game to send init method. Even thou I used the GameeConector > Start. (again, the emulator worked just fine on localhost link)

So, the second question is: Can I just sent the zip file? Cuz, If I didn't saw this post on Scirra's forum, I would do it.

    Thanks.

  • I got it fixed!

For some reason the sounds and music won't play in fullscreen. So I had to upload to a website (bitballoon) that didn't put on fullscreen automatically.

  • I deleted all addons, removed all scenes.

There's only three layouts on this example.

Here's the new link to download the capx: h*t*t*p*s://w*w*w.dropbox.com/s/i4pflucmorltuap/SaveTheDate22_AudioProblem.capx?dl=0

I also uploaded this version on itch.io, so you can try on mobile and desktop:

  • The .capx link is invalid. Please provide a working link otherwise we can't investigate.

I'm using a few plugins, but I saved the project as mentioned on the MUST READ FIRST topic: "To save a .capx file, click "Save as single file" in the File menu."

  • Problem Description

Any sound or music in my game is playing when acessing the game with Android.

    Attach a Capx

    Description of Capx

The game music should by playing automaticaly after the intro.

I've tried put a screen before everything to wait for user click, as recommended on many other topics. I've tried to play with "play by name" instead of "play". But none of this work. I've tried moving the musics to folder Music and folder Sounds, but nothing worked.

  • Hello guys!

I've started to use Construct 2 by the ending of last year (I used to work in Unity3D and had 4 or more years in experience) and begun to work on a action platform-shooter.

    [quote:3sbrra3f]

    Cat-a-clysm!

is about a world ruled by cats, that founded the Cat Purrty, a political party that took over the world. Humans are hypnotized with cute cats video propaganda and the one in charge of all this is the dictator Kittler! You, as Dog, must confront the the cats, enter in the Cat Purrty's tower and destroy the computer sending hypnotizing political propaganda.

The art and animations are totally a placeholder (I took the oportunity to study pixel art), and in the end, pixel art won't be the art style in the game. I wan't a 90's cartoon look, like Happy Tree Friends, Two Stupid Dogs, CatDog.

Still have a few bugs (some of those bugs showed in video are already fixed), but the focus of this video is on gameplay and "juiceness", anyway, what you guys think? Any tips?

If you guys like, I can show more videos, showing the weapon collection system (shotgun, machine gun, bazooka), ammunition system, wave explosions, zoom-in and zoom-out system, and I still have another level done that I can show in some other video.

    Any questions, ask me! Thx!

  • I'll prepare a new Capx file! Thanks for your advice.

Anyway, I downloaded the newest NWjs version. Now the game doesn't close by itself, however the screen freezes. I clicked on the freezed screen and could be able to hear the new weapon firing.

  • Problem Description

The game crashes on a specific moment: when the player collects a new weapon in game. This only happen when the game is exported and played on NW.js.

When the weapon is collected, the camera zoom in, the weapons name appears on screen, the background color inverts, and a "collected" sound is played.

The game works perfectly when played inside Construct (Run Layout mode).

    Attach a Capx

    tinyurl.com/jhma986 (google drive)

    Description of Capx

Open the game and play the game (Run layout). Make sure that the "preview browser" is "NW.js". Move to the right and collect the shotgun (don't have to press any key, just move into it). The player will collect the gun and all animations and sounds will play.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    Step 2:

    Close "Run Layout" screen.

    Step 3:

    Export the game for NW.js.

    Step 4:

Play the game (I played in win 32) and reproduce step 1 (collect the weapon). The game will crash.

The game screen will close abruptlly.
