Yep, assuming you're the rebels, then the empire ships are the enemies. Everything is killable, even the space stations.
Very old game now and I've lost the code I think. I tried to convert it to C3 but I don't have a license. Do you mean the timer thing? I think that could be removed (if I'm able to edit it), for a kind of sandbox mode?
What I probably could have done is take the code from this, changed it so the ship just flies straight (no player controls) and grabs resources as it goes and made the upgrade / gun screen more prominent, so the arcade part is like a small part of the window and the rest is numbers and upgrades. So probably could have done it from this without restarting.
I did a sort of 'colony' version but I think it's lost now. There was a simplified Construct version of that but it was too simple.
Hehe, thanks. Thing is, I was really going for the management aspect. When you begin the game and all the panels are open you can see the gases being collected, fuel being used etc. And when there's damage, the ship responds correctly, e.g it'll turn slower if the thrusters are on fire etc. That was my main interest. The arcade aspect wasn't really meant to be important, but it's the most obvious part of the game and I don't really like it.
So for 'Korelos 2' or whatever, I just wanted the ship to control itself while you worked on tweaking the numbers, upgrading, keeping crew happy, fighting the fires and so on. Either some kind of Tower Defence style or something like that.
But I never got around to it. Quite a lot of hard work and no reward at the end of it so it kinda got abandoned. Shame really. At least it's still here getting the odd play :)
Never gonna happen, this was 7 years ago :p
Planned update was basically gonna remove the arcade section and just turn it into a 'Spaceship Simulator' which was basically what I was aiming for. But there are loads of them around now and probably much better than I can manage :)
Thanks. Added the missions last, was kinda rushing to get it finished. Whole thing had a few flaws, I keep planning a better version but never get round to it.
No prob, glad the game is still providing some fun :)
Sorry, game is very old now (published over 6 years ago). I do have the code somewhere but I don't think the game is played much now. I was planning to upgrade it to C3 but there were some issues with colours that I couldn't solve, so didn't get it done. Apologies, you might be stuck with this bug :(
Very good!
It doesn't work correctly in C3, it was written in C2. There was an add-on for the movement, although I managed to fix that, but there's an issue with colours bleeding through that doesn't seem to work correctly in C3, so it's a bit hard to see stuff.
Not sure about the first one. I'd have to get it working correctly first anyway.
For the 2nd question, it'll take a while with your starting red lasers. If you upgrade to better lasers, you can get through them faster. In testing, with 25 white lasers (the max), it pretty much one-shots a station, but I'm not sure if you could reach that amount of money in time.
3 would be an entirely new game. I am considering buying a C3 license because I want to build an online game, similar to this but without the arcadey part (I don't like the arcade action here, I was more interested in the management feature of running a ship, but it all became a bit bogged down with the arcade section).
Thanks, I did put a lot of work into it. It started to get a bit 'heavy' towards the end and hadn't gone entirely as planned, but I got the complexity in that I wanted. Didn't know how to market it or anything though, so it's just sat here doing nothing :(
Hmmm, I think that might be an error with the arcade. It does have quite a lot of large files so maybe it's just loading. It works on here on mine but it might be in cache so I'm not sure.
Sorry, this was years ago. But in short, I think you just shoot them.... for a long long time. Upgraded lasers should do the trick I think... :)
Thanks Tom, this got quite complex in C2. I was thinking of updating it to C3, just for some C3 practice but a few basics weren't working and it still feels a bit 'heavy' in the editor. Would be nice to revive it though.
Glad to see someone playing it after all this time. I half want to fix it up a bit in C3 but I don't want to pay the fee right now.
Answer to your question, you just shoot at them until they blow up :p You'll need to upgrade your ship a lot though, get loads of higher level lasers. If it's not dead before you are, you've probably taken on more than you can chew.
