    *Buy*

I saw another company do something like this. Once there's enough criticism they'll revert to the "buy" model instead of subscription and then put a positive spin on things and claim that they are in touch with their users and value user feedback.

I buy C2 for $100 and use it for 3 years, it has cost me $100. I buy C3 for $100 per year, now it costs $300 over 3 years.

It's like the Unity pricing debacle a few months ago never happened....

Yup subscription model. I'm not paying $100 a year for features I don't want.

    Oh dear.

  • Brian have you sought legal advice or contacted Trading Standards about your concerns over misleading advertising? I'm curious what they say about it.

I have to echo something of what saiyadjin said: Why do it?

C3 is coming-along sometime soon, which makes a C2-compatible exporter somewhat irrelevant in the coming months and years.

Personally, I'd look at doing a converter from HTML5 to SDL for native execution.

  • [quote:2woq1w0z]Hmm, it seams that I have had temporary multiple sclerosis.

Solomon I find this offensive, I genuinely hope you never do get such a hideous disease.

  • Ramones thank you for taking the time to check my capx file.

You're right! I had bounce off solids = No. I set it to Yes and also Set Angle=Yes and it's working.

    Your help much appreciated :)

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Not sure if it makes a difference but the player sprite is defined with a behaviour of of 8-direction whereas the monster sprites are defined with a behaviour of bullet.

Does this mean bullets don't stop at solids?

  • Thank you - I've put the capx at wolfpaw.co.uk/capx/begining.capx

Been looking through it again and still can't see why the enemy mobs are moving through solids :(

  • Hi All

I'm using the top-down shooter in tutorial 1.

I have placed some "solid" sprites (walls) in the scene and my player sprite doesn't go through the walls, which is correct.

However all the monster sprites do go through the walls, even though they shouldn't. I have set their 'bounce of solid' property to Yes and still they're going through the solid objects.

    What am I missing please?

    Thank you

    Mark

  • Saving for a Construct License and thought I'd just make sure nothing else was worth looking at. I've tried Game Maker, didn't do it for me

    Me too <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I am a licensed GameMaker user but Construct2 just 'clicks' with me, so I'm jumping ship as soon as I can.

  • Hi All

Really looking forward to the manual in downloadable format as I'm due to move house soon without internet access, so I won't be able to look things up as I need to :(

    Cheers
