  • Here is the error:

  • I got the same problem now. It doesn't save all the textures.

  • That is awesom(ium)

  • Thanks Ashley.

I have contacted Awesomium staff about the performance issue and hope others will do the same.

I look forward to hearing about more on the webstorage issue.

  • I agree.

Do you know if the webstorage feature is going to work in EXE exports? I would really like to get some clarification on that if possible.

I genuinely think the Awesomium license is not a problem at all. In practice it is rare you will need to pay anything, and if you do then it will be a fraction of what you've already earnt, much like Construct 2's Business license.

Have you made less than $100K? Then no worries, you do not need to pay anything.

Have you made $100k? Then congratulations, you are already an incredibly successful game developer! You now have two options:

    - if you have one game, buy a single commercial license, which is only 2.9% of the income you've already made

    - if you have multiple games, contact Awesomium for a site license which allows unlimited use in multiple commercial applications. This is likely more expensive, but still probably a fraction of the $100k you've already made.

If you have made $100k you are most likely overjoyed with your recent success and paying a license for the technology that got you there is probably not going to dampen your spirits! I struggle to see how making $100k can be interpreted as a problem :P

  • Another good point lokesen... It still seems a bit silly to have it per game, but you probably won't be pumping out desktop-worthy games by the hundred every year, so it's not that big of a deal.

I agree on the "per game" thing too. But it's probably not a real issue in the real world scenario. Hope they change it to "per game" making 100k. That seems more fair.

  • Sorry I missed that

But it works. I had to make some changes to make it work - but in the end it was worth the 20 minutes I used!

I probably spent 10+ hours on trying to make it work in previous versions :D

  • How would I go about doing that?

I already got my system working with webstorage - but I am open to changing that if I knew how to. Is there a tutorial on something like that or just similiar to that?

  • Maybe you don't even know about it... But it sure works for me!

  • I just wanted to let you know that I have had issues with making a moving platform working properly with all previous versions of C2, especially vertical moving platforms! There are solutions - but none working perfectly.

I just wan't thank Ashley for R100 and for fixing that problem. And you didn't even tell us about it :D

I love it! You are simply brillant.

  • I really hope webstorage is going to work with the EXE exporter...

A stand alone game without a save function is pretty 1982-ish.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Don't use the EXE exporter then. I don't see what the purpurse of using an EXE exporter unless it's a really really big project you are going to sell as a stand alone game.

If that is the case - I doubt that you can make more than one game a year anyway and if that game should earn 100k - the 2900 should not be a big problem.

But yes - if you make 10-100 games a year it is a problem. But that kind of games is clearly for web or mobile platforms and not for desktop anyway.

LOOl 2900 PER GAME, thats it... well i hope good look for all the indie developer, because with that kind of mentality is no more place for a open free comunity, people are going to start thinking money money money money money, and less creativity.

    WHY?

Because when you buy expensive licences, you directly start thinking to earn some money...

if you have to buy the construct2 licence who is really honest for me, PLUS 2900$ for a plugin...PLUS others future plugins or Functions....well, i prefer to stop right now my business, and become a fiherman.

Because witht kind of mentality, is no more place for an artist but only for those who eat money.
