    BTW BluePhaze, Vector X did work with me, but I had to mess with max acceleration, speed and other platform behavior stuff that just wouldn't give me the result I was looking for. Also, I love your tutorials. ^^

  • Hey guys!

    So I had an idea for this game. Basically, it's a platformer.

    I wanted to give the character a Homing Attack, just like Sonic's.

    Initially, I thought of something like this:

    <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Keyboard: On [jump button] pressed

    Player: Platform is NOT on floor

    -> Set Platform Vector Y to 0

    -> Set Platform Vector X to [some number]

    </font>

    Of course, I'm verifying which side is the player looking at.

    Thing is, whatever the number I use on the Vector X the character goes just a bit to the left (or right), to the point I'm currently using 40000 :P

    The Y Vector to 0 is working fine though.

    This event probably doesn't work when the platformer is not on the floor.

    Any ideas?

    As I mentioned in the first post, I will make the .capx downloadable, and I encourage you all to make it better or more convinient to your games or tests when it's done. But right now, this is something I want to finish for myself.

    Also, I wouldn't want to have people using different and buggy versions of this engine. I want this to be the easiest (being C2) and best way to make a Mega Man based game you can find on the internet.

    Sorry if it seems selfish, but I really want to feel like I could do a great engine on my own, of a game that I really like. It's been my dream to make a Mega Man X game since I was a kid, and this dream started to be possible a few months ago.

    I might make a post with some ideas I had while developing Mega Man's movement mechanichs though.

  • There's a beat'em up demo game around the forums. Also, you really should try the begginer's tutorial before anything else.

  • I totally second Arima. I was going to make a big text here but I feel the same way.

    To be fair, native programming is probably better than C2, but there are many many maaaaany things already done for you here, specially because we're talking about HTML5 and all it's features here. And you know the internet is powerful.

  • Did you insert the platform behavior to the enemy object? Did you make the events to make the enemy walk (simulate control)?

    Shooting is done! Just need some minor tweaks.

    Animation is NOT being given much work right now, I'm focusing on the moviment mechanics. Next is probably the screen transition thing.
