  • I'm eagerly awaiting my Firefox OS phone. My game currently runs great in the simulator (took about 10 minutes to get working). Blackberry 10 looks awesome too.

I love working with fringe mobile OS's as the chance of being a success on them is much higher and it allows you to take on lots of user feedback before moving onto something like iOS and Android.

  • Hi all,

So we've got our Mortar Melon update live on Windows 8 so focus is back on Windows Phone. Here's our current priority list with highest priority at the top:

    • Minification support
    • IAP
    • Sound effect looping
    • Rate game support
    • More live tiles
    • Trial
    • Pubcenter Ads
    • Accelerometer
    • Scheduled local tile updates

Let me know if I've missed anything :)

gamepopper can you pm me a .capx.

  • michael good find. I was just about to investigate after realising it used to work in an older build. Also it works fine as-is on touch devices.

michael can you test on a basic project that doesn't use the mouse object?

  • Thanks everyone for the amazing feedback. We were able to make lots of changes based on what everyone said.

A couple of things we couldn't change:

    • Mouse controls (we didn't have the capacity to test a rapidly different approach for this release. We'll definitely address it for the next release.)
    • End of level planks (as UI stuff is created dynamically there's a lot of logic involved in this, and we didn't use a family for the planks (doh!) so this is pushed to the next release.

Literally every other point should now have been addressed. Our update is now live in the Windows Store - we'll have a proper announcement and trailer soon.

Thanks again everyone, I couldn't have asked for better feedback. This put into words what a lot of the Windows Store users just expressed through vague frustration.

Unfortunately the web build is now down, but you can play on Windows 8 here.

  • Ludei haven't released a WebGL-enabled version of CocoonJS yet - it's still a work in progress.

  • Isn't this exactly what happens? What bugs have you found that exist in the latest stable release?

  • jenaylor I recommend you use functions to handle the sound, then detect whether it's Windows Phone and use my plugin, else use the official sound plugin. They won't work together on Windows Phone, you have to detect the device and use the appropriate object.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Check out the Chrome Console plugin for debugging.

  • gamepopper I PM'd you several days ago, did you get it?

  • Ashley - apologies I should have tested this more comprehensively before posting. Differing frame-rate was just down to environmental differences, upscaling has negligible impact on the Surface.

  • I've just found that upscaling the canvas from 75% of the device resolution results in very large performance gains.

Can anyone else confirm that adding @-ms-viewport { width:75% } to the exported index.html has the same effect in their games? If so I'll package it up as a plugin.

  • Joannesalfa I've contacted Ludei and despite CocoonJS having basic XML support in the works, Construct 2 uses XPath which isn't currently on their agenda.

An array makes sense, but I don't want to have to populate the array dynamically. That's definitely going to be trouble when trying to maintain many lines of multi-lingual text.

Using AJAX to get a json file seems... like it might work.

Edit -> This CSV plugin combined with Ajax looks like it will be the best solution! I'll do some tests using CocoonJS and report back.
