  • It's already part of the CocoonJS object in Construct 2, you don't need to download it.

  • I've had my share of issues with CocoonJS, but now it seems to work great for me. Hit me on skype if you want (ArcadEd), and maybe I can help you troubleshoot the issue.

  • I'm not a moderator, or someone really important, but I have been around for a while.

I would be happy to start one up, and I could include some prizes. I really love making games, but I also really enjoy teaching beginners. My Learn Construct 2 facebook page has over 1200 likes.

I'm not sure if me starting one up would really make a difference though. Tom, mod me and I would happy to head this up if it's something Scirra might be interested in. If you need some info on me, or do a back ground check to see if I am mod worthy, I would be happy to oblige :).

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Not really, I just do it via command line. It only takes a few minutes to sign it and zip align it.

I usually follow the tutorial on Ludei's wiki if I forget something.

  • Here is an example. The meat of it is the function "Populate"

If you need help with the random picking, let me know. But now you have an array that is populated with all level 1 monsters, you can just pick a random one.

  • I'm really curious why game jams are not more popular for C2 only. Seems there has been at least 2 other attempts to get something started and they all kind of seem to fade. Just curious why people shy away. Is it lack of prizes or some other reason?

  • My games have all rated 6.5 or 7. Typically points are taken off for sound/music. I consider those very fair scores for the types of games I made. I also don't consider them low based on the strictness of their review process. They don't want a bunch of crap games on their website to show publishers. That was a problem MarketJS had early on.

I have sold a few non-exclusive license deals from fgl. I'm working on another now.

  • I just wanted to say good luck with this. I would suggest maybe creating a facebook group for the jam so people can communicate to each other about it.

Also, in your example these is a link to the rubric doc, but it links to Speedy Share. This site requires you download their installer in order to get the doc. Not sure many people would do that, I know I won't.

I had plans to create a Jam for C2 as well, so I am very excited to see how this works out :)

  • How did you export it?

You will a Mac running Xcode and your iphone provisioned to your Apple Dev account in order to test it on your device.

  • You just need to program in the logic.

If player places piece here, CPU should place piece here. If that spot is taken, place piece here, etc.

  • Learning system expressions can really help you come up with all kinds of new ideas for doing things :).

  • There is a count expression you can use as well, if all you want to do is count how many of a certain object is on the layout.

    Create your sprites

    Set text to sprite.count
