• Hi!

I am creating some simple games that require some kind of music or audio sync with text (at some specific ponits in the audio timeline, some text must be displayed). Until now i am playing with a music track, next a numeric variable, with the "do every X secs" event, adding 1 to the variable every sec and checking every tick if the counter reached 20 secs, 45 secs, etc... Although this almost work, it is not reliable on all browers/mobile platforms, and loses sync or starts sooner/later than I want. (I hope i explained it well, my english is not so good )

Do you think it would be possible to add a new event "do at audio playback time X" or something similar? It would be really great.

I think it may be possible to do, reading about the audio tag property "currenttime":

    Thank you!!!!

  • Thank you, I'll tell Ludei about it. I hope it will be fixed soon :)

Are any of the issues present in the Android version?

  • Ok, I'm adding captures to this post, you can see I'm serious about the issues (being ignored is somewhat frustrating)

First image: Construct 2 screenshot with centered+word wrap text:

Second image: Project running on iPad under CocoonJS iOS launcher:

I call this a bug, I guess it is at cocoonJS side, but who knows, maybe you can work together to check this issue :)

EDITED: I'l adding 2 more shots to show you the issue about blurry text (and graphics, but you can see very well the difference with the text)

First image: native screenshot on the iPad, running cocoonJS

Second image: native screenshot on the iPad running phonegap:

The iPad used is a new ipad (ipad 3), you'll notice because the size of the shots. Anyway i tested on iPad 2 with same results.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Thanks for this post, I wrote about some bugs in other post but no one answered...

    I use iOS launcher.

I see that text is not well supported yet, I guess they're working on it. I use centered text a lot but it doesn't work, text doesn't appear centered. It shows always aligned to left, but the text starts at the center of the box that contains it. Also the text wrap (word or character) doesn't work.

The other big issue I noticed (I wtote about it here in other post and also in Ludei official web, but I got no answer) is that all the graphics and texts are very blurry. I'll try to make a photo of a test app rendered in CocoonJS and other in Phonegap to show you the differences. I don't know if that happens in Android launcher, but in iOS lauincher it does.

    Thanks!

  • Try Construct 3

  • I tested the iOS launcher (with my apple developper account) on ipad. I noticed 3 issues (I think they are...):

1- Centered text (Horizontal align = center) does not work. It shows aligned to left always.

2- Everything is very blurry. I tested a lot of combinations (if not all) in C2 project properties (fullscreen, webgl, sampling, rounding, etc....). It is impossible to get sharp picture and texts with cocoonJS on iOS. (tested on ipad 1 ipad 2 and new ipad (ipad 3). preview on iOs safari browser is OK, and exported to phonegap is OK too.

3- On iPad 3, retina screen "is not supported", i guess. I use 2x graphics and images in my project, and the project configured as 1024x768, and "Use iOS retina display" enabled in project properties, and scale (scale or letterbox scale). If i prevew in browser or export to phonegap, it works 100%, the scaled game (at 2048x1536 i guess) with retina graphics and texts are perfect, smooth edges and sharp image. with cocoonJS launcher it doesn't, graphics show sawtooth borders and blurry in general. I can confirm it is not scaled to 2048x1536 because with iOS browser and phonegap the loading progressbar is very small and launched in cocoonJS the progressbar is 2x larger.

    Thanks!

  • I would like this feature added as well. My project will include a music rhythm minigame

Yes, my game will include something like a karaoke part, so audio sync is very important.

I hope a future release will include support for this :)

    Thanks!!!

  • Any news on this?

I have the same exact problem, and Pode suggestion sounds the perfect solution for this.

    Thank you!!!
