  • Whoops, my bad (new to this forum...sorry)

Did the wrong link in the URL - hopefully should work now.

    Sorry <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Lol - I knew there was something I forgot to mention. Thanks Jayjay.

The terrains look superb in Construct 2 from this too.

A quick image with a plane I had lying around - probably have to make some kind of River Raid remake when I find the time.

  • Hi QueenOfRats,

There is a tutorial at the link below about using dropbox to host your game. This should help I think.

I have also used this technique using Google Drive instead of dropbox and that works fine too.

    Hope this helps.

  • I've been using 3DRad for over a year now and find it's great for doing small 3D Windows games.

Compile's to standalone .exe, and although it says it will do web games - my personal experiences making a web game have been sketchy at best.

Overall though it's amazingly simple, intuitive and superb to use.

Just like Construct 2 - you can make some great stuff with no scripting at all, but when the time comes you want to script - it uses Angelscript which is quite easy to learn.

There's also a small demo of a car football game done by me in the game engine at the following link... Simple Sketchup models and everything else done in 3DRad.

    Quick video link.

  • Hello all,

I've been making the odd 3D game demo's/tests for a while and just started my hand with Construct 2 for some 2D games.

A suggestion I have for creating a top down landscape is to use this free 3D terrain generator... L3DT

    http://www.bundysoft.com/L3DT/

It's very easy to create and shape a 3D terrain, and then just use the texture file as the background for your Construct 2 project. You can tile the terrain if you so wish too.

    Hope this helps someone. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • Great feel to the game. Sounds/Visuals/Gameplay all compliment each other perfectly.

Well done so far - look forward to seeing more.

  • Very exciting stuff. The more you guys add, the harder it is not to love this software.

  • Thanks for the feedback tnewhook, much appreciated.

I believe the floating in the air next to platforms bit is probably due to me using just a single "box" around the pheasant for it's collision detection rather than the pheasant itself - so yes, it's perfectly possible to hover in mid air at the moment. It's something I should sort.

Apart from the not being able to get in front of the black boxes (which is a concern) I agree with your other feedback too. If 'work' will allow I will continue to improve this - while working in free time on personal game projects.

    Thanks.

  • Hello all - I'm Neil, exactly one half of the game making duo known collectively as Rotary Gaming (www.rotarygaming.co.uk)

I've only just started using Construct 2 and have been really impressed with it's ease of use. A really cool piece of software.

I've just posted a little thread with our first demo/game test for a video production company I work for. Would love for you all to check it out and let us know what you think.

    http://www.scirra.com/forum/hello-and-take-a-gander_topic53620.html

We're using Construct 2 to make 2d versions of the 3d games we make in another game engine. (www.3drad.com)

This should help get us some great game exposure and also make some pretty funky stuff.

Look forward to getting many great tips and chatting to you all.

    Neil.

  • Hello all, I've just signed up to the forum and started using Construct 2... and a very impressive piece of software it seems to be. <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I'm one half of a small hobby game making duo collectively known as Rotary Gaming (http://www.rotarygaming.co.uk/) and we've been playing with the 3DRad game engine for a little over a year now.

We've just started to use Construct 2 - the plan being to make 2d versions of our 3d games as a marketing tool.

The first little demo we've made is a promotional piece for the video production company I do 'proper' (read - paid) work for. Again - a little test to get to know the software and be used as promotion.

Please take a look and let me know what you think. *EDIT* - the link would have helped here wouldn't it? Now included below...
