    Your answers are so clear and concise compared to most I get (not that I'm not thankful for them).

    If it's not too much trouble I would like another question since you answer my questions so clearly.

    I have falling platforms (they fall when you stand on them no problem there), but once I am on it I cannot "jump" off of them. I have to walk off. Any idea of what I should do?

    While I have your attention I would like to ask another question (I've seen you answer many questions on forums).

    I have no idea how create a life bar that is of hearts and how to implement it with damage taken or health gained. Can you help with that?

  • I've made it to where I can have it say how many coins I've collected on the top left no problem. I've read that tutorial. I was wondering if there is a way to have an image instead of the word like:

    (sprite of coin image): 07

    Any help is much appreciated

  • Hey everyone, I have few questions and my first game will be complete.

    -How do I collect the ruby's and have an indicator above saying how many you collected?

    -How do I make it to where to screen will fit any screen size being the largest it can be (eg. 800x600, 1440x900, 1920x1080).?

    -I have some enemies across the map and I copied them, but I noticed that the copies (not clones I was just holding Ctrl and pressed left click to drag a copy) will not move until I kill the original.

    -How do I make the level end once I reach the end?

    Last question is what is the difference between a capx and caproj

  • I finally found what I was doing wrong!

    It was just a little mix up in the event sheet. I guess when you're tired and working mistakes will be made and difficult to see where th error was made.

    Anyway, it works great! Thanks a lot for your example!

  • I like your example, but I've tried it over and over for at least 3 hours and cannot get it to work. It seems so simple, but I cannot see what I am doing wrong.

    The 1 thing that I don't understand is the "pair" instance variable. How do you get it to say <varies> I have to select either 1 or 2.

  • I just got this program about a month ago. I don't have a lot of time to work on this on my own. So it's hard for me to find the answers to certain things. I continue to ask in the forums, but only get minimal success. I figure I can learn faster this way.

    I will pay someone to make a small game (1 level) with everything I want and then send me the .capx file.

    Once you get half way through and I see that you have done a good job of making what I want (after I explain it to you) I will pay you so that you can finish knowing that you were paid. Please keep it neat and organized as well. If it is done well I may continue to ask you for more lessons.

  • I've read this thread and looked at the examples for quite some time: scirra.com/forum/platformer-jumps-on-vertical-moving-platform_topic47845_post299944.html

    I'm just not satisfied with the first example. You have to press jump once and then once you get to the edge of a platform it automatically makes you jump.

    The 2nd example is much different than my game. My character's sprite images...well his feet are not a separate image from his body. So my game is able to work with either one of these.

    So I am still stuck at waiting until the platform reaches the very bottom or the very top until I can successfully jump off of it. Does anyone know of a different way?
