  • procrastinator Thanks! Yeah... I was leaving the dark humor of the comic out completely. Taking itself too seriously. Now it has all the moves. But boss 1 looked like a sissy so he's been completely redrawn (except the hands)...mostly re-coded too!

  • procrastinator Thanks! Been plugging away (despite also working on Go!Go!Maddi! over the summer). Release date is roughly March/April of 2014. I wanted to be done in October of this year but life just has a funny way of saying no.

    Nixel So I've added in a few more moves since yesterday! We now have the addition of:

    1) Double tap direction and attack: Decapitation Dash! Punches off heads etc.

    2) Down and attack while holding arm: Grand Slam Home Run! Hit zombies into air possibly causing eXPloDe!

    3) Grab and Down: Devastating Testicle Implosion! A ball kick that causes total body break down. ***EDIT*** You will see balls fly...

    Also added far more exploding of corpses. Hitting them with an arm when hit points are low causes guts explode...

    Hope I'm making this far more "wet" than dry :D

  • procrastinator hahaha! yeah but I've been hardcore on IB now to get the demo and all that other junk out! I haven't touched this in a month. The crab boss is in the old Go!Go!Maddi! which I'm not releasing publicly anymore. But I may use the crab boss in this game as this octopus is too sissy for me.

    retrodude yeah I do all of the art all of the sfx, and about 70-80% of the coding. JayJay is working with me on both projects. He's an amazing friend and co-worker :D I've also started tackling the music for IB... There is never enough time in a day. But I've also coded that pseudo 3d game for another company and now working on another client game.

    If I had the time and money to focus on both games, they'd both already be finished. Before and after I type this reply, I'm already adding 3 new moves to Insanity's Blade. That includes the animation for each. I actually just snuck online to see if there is a tut for double tap direction then button (like streets of rage 2 grand upper cut etc). I have a feeling it's a variable to catch the tap then but and direction if variable = 2 or whatever... If it's not on here it'll be done in the next 30 minutes regardless :D

  • sman118 Timers in events, and x/y vector movement. I disable the controls, if player is facing right then x vector -1500 and that knocks him back with a timer 0.3s before allowing controls again.

    For the death hit, there's a bit more to it (this only contains knockback, not slow motion, blood etc.)This code is if player hp <=0 then (set animation blah blah blah).

  • Nixel Haha! Thanks :) Yeah, things get buried quickly around here now. The other game I started is long gone. The original demo was very dry. But it was a beta. The store additions and the dwarf were supposed to spice things up a bit. But after I had play tested stage 1 a million times, I realized it was nothing like the comic. The character is hands on ripping and tearing things.

    Now, every so many levels he will do something new. In the comic he puts he whole arm through the zombies and guts them, punt kicks heads... tons of stuff. I'll try to work some more of the violence into the game!

    I've been adding my own music to the game, we've missed the original deadline of Nov 1st as it's fallen on me to get the rest of the demo music done. The Musician who was working on it before did the title/intro music and the stage music. But the GameOver music and the boss music wasn't done. I've already done the boss music so now I just have to do game over and I might do one other little thing.

    On that note. Website, Demo and Kickstarter will be (hopefully) launching Nov 15th.

  • Sheepy I haven't finished it - but I do know what they are talking about. I just did a quick but thorough bug test and found there are a few bugs in the controls. I'll add some suggestions to make it feel more fluent to!

    -Animations aren't happening when attacking: When you hit the attack button, the sound will happen but no action. If you are trying to attack an enemy when this happens, you die.

    -If you press the attack button in succession to fast, the animations don't play out. Therefore your weapon doesn't extend and you die.

    -Block doesn't always happen when you press the block button.

    -If you press attack or block while walking nothing happens. Suggestion: disable left and right movement and do action instead of walk.

    -Jumping is to high but not far enough, you don't know where you are going to land. That was one thing I caught right at the start. I thought I was going to make a jump over a hole but fell quickly onto another level and was immediately stabbed. I think maybe slowing down the jump - less height and being able to go a little further would be fantastic here!

    Now I am also a hardcore platform freak and will jump where no man has jumped before. But for the average player, they don't get it. If they don't see where to jump they don't know what to do.

    The one thing I would do is assign the attacks to just attack button and maybe attack+up or something to let you hit your target precisely. And the forward thrust needs to be extended just a tad (maybe not if the attack bug is fixed!). It looks like I'm hitting the badguys right in the face sometimes then I'm stabbed for my trouble.

    I've got a rhythm down to not get hit for the most part but when the attack animation fails, there's not much you can do about that!!

  • gillenew I have played this a lot on the arcade. It is an extremely fun game! I love the look of the side bars! Your game play and graphics are just outstanding!!!
