    Yes, Ashley is the best

    Definitely!

    Eventually I did...

And I found that in those 30 pages there is no confirmation from the developers Ashley or Tom that there will be or wont be 3d.

Maybe the confirmation in other topics (I'd like to see them), like some people mentioned:

    There won't be 3D.

    Satisfied?

    That's a shame...

    Agreed, and no problem.

Any news of C3 having 3D capabilities?

I know no one likes to read 30 previous pages, but if you did, you'd know that C3 will not have 3D support, at all.

  • Try Construct 3

That they split C3 up into two major versions: Game & Enterprise. C3:Game would be focused on canvas-based JavaScript abstraction (their previous idea of C3), while C3:Enterprise would be focused on non-canvas JavaScript abstraction. The Enterprise version would contain things like site formatting, tables, authentication, database access, caching, among other things. They would also be able to do C3:Ultimate, which would contain both Game & Enterprise versions.

This would multiply their potential market by a thousand-fold, and they would be competing with platforms like Google WebToolkit and Web Builder 11, etc.

But like I said before, this is purely conjecture.

Whether they do that or not, it's a pretty solid idea.

About a year ago, I suggested a sweeping change to C3 that I am guessing they took.

What would this sweeping change be?

  • You can't. Construct 2 is a 2D engine. There may be a way to fake it using a plug-in, but I'm not sure. There is a plug-in around here somewhere, but I don't think it's that great at all. Your best bet is to render 3D images to sprites and fake the 3D in Construct.

It would be very cool but I'm not that keen on 3D engines as it's very hard to make good looking 3D assets

I started working in the 3D industry back in 2006, so I can make 3D assets with no problem. It's the programming that I have a problem with!

I just thought it might be 3D as there aren't any real non coding 3D game engines, it really doesn't matter either way( I would personally prefer it to be 2d). The bit about the name was a bit far fetched on second thought, but it could make sense either way.

I agree; it would be great to have this kind of event system in a 3D engine, but it won't be with Construct unfortunately. Just give me a dark theme for C3 and I'll be very happy.

In my opinion it's quite obvious that it will be 3D was not only is it called construct 3

    Construct Classic

    Construct 2

    Construct 3

    Construct 4

    Etc....

Where did common sense go? How does saying Construct 3 = Construct 3D?
