  • Hello everybody !,

    I do a project using Orientation devices and "Touch.alpha" to move a view on a 360? panorama, it works well but i want to improve it and add user real orientation (compass data) as "starting" project orientation.

    Actually my "starting" orientation is always "0" in Touch.Alpha -> "North" even if my current orientation is different ... is there way in Construct 2 to retrieve current user orientation ?.

    Sorry for bugs, i've made many updates upload of this application during your tests so it isn't good at all to give good feedbacks !

    I've now resize the width view to 1080x720 (the layout and 360? panorama full size are 6000x720). This application use only TiledBackground and Text Objects... no Sprites Objects which put safari browser near death.

    Last version uploaded with improvements ! :

    • Add Author's comments on the 360? panorama of Ockley !
    • Adjust Compass/orientation according to Author's data
    • Add a auto fade and zoom system (disabled for mobile devices and Apple browsers).

    Details about future improvements & compass :

    • Actually the compass is use in app. to the move the view on the 360? panorama picture and the starting orientation is always considered as "North". Could be cool to start with the user's real current orientation but seems not be done automatically in "Touch.Alpha" (need some tips guys ! ... perhaps it was just my Iphone compass which was not calibrated)
    • I also want to add more panoramas and let users create areas that triggered text comments displaying or/and sounds playing.

    Surfing on the web i have find a 360-degree panorama of the small town of Ockley (Indiana) ... i decide it was time to create something which was not a game !!!, so a simple interactive 360? panorama view with device orientation support ... i test it on my Iphone 4 and surprise ... it was not to bad ! ;-p

    So, if you have a device with orientation support, take a look => Here ... you can also test it on a "standard" computer and move clicking with mouse on left/right edges or using keyboard arrows left/right keys ... but it's less interesting and fun !

    So many changes in this new version of "Undersea Challenge" that it was almost impossible to describe all of them !

    So in few words, new physic engine / new zoom system / endless levels !

  • Hello everybody !

    No update for Undersea Challenge (UC) this day but i deliver you a preview of the new engine with physics i'll put in the next release of the game (soon).

    Another technical change ... i use now instances of a only one sprite object to create and manage the 24 jigsaw puzzle pieces ... so it's 48 events less in my game ! ...

    If someone is interesting i'll share a project .capx for this preview for helping beginners in instances management.

    ENjoy ! (sorry a last minute change introduce a bug with r90, now seems ok)

  • Avoid "FF", Chrome as nearly the same engine than "FF" ... but sometimes 2 times more fast ! ... and text is displayed in Chrome same as in IE (except always in front in Chrome but seems link to webgl).

    Your new number font and black color is perfect. Don't loose time with browser bugs ...

  • Another more "FF" Text/Font bug no ? In my game "FF" loose Italic attribute of my font so => "Chrome" ... IE and Chrome Text/Font display seems nearly the same (except always in front Chrome text display) so i consider them as the "good" behaviour.

    (Mark4Media ... numbers in black and font change => really good !)

  • Good game ;-p, this piano music is really good choice for this kind of game.

    Same suggestions as ramones about last number changing color.

    Improve your text display, seems letters and words never centered into squares.

    About numbers font & color :

    • Use a less "bold" font giving here a little smudge effect.
    • Try black color instead of white.
