  • no you need the 2 files to make it work.

  • I've found a very easy and cool way to do that using a special web font convert to the light "woff" format ... ;-p

No Google web font with this kind of "digital" effect (as supposed) but i've found a classic windows font (http://www.dafont.com/ds-digital.font)... after searching a little more i discover the "woff" font format (Web Open Font Format) which is very light and support by all recent browsers ... searching more again a free web tool to convert my font format to "woff" (http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator), this tool also create a stylesheet to use it ... so my only real work was removing some unused data in the stylesheet ! (10 seconds).

So now i use C2 import files feature to bring access to this stylesheet and the digital font ... the last thing is just to use "set web font" on the text object and ...

... a cool digital web font is in your project and working "everywhere" ! ;-p ... I share the project capx Here (with the digital font) for testing and use it in your own projects* ... thanks to report bugs if so ;-p

If you just want to test the result it's Here ...

Test working on pc all browsers and safari ios 5.1.1 ... the arial standard font is replace by the digital one by local url so it could take sometimes 2 seconds to the new font to be loaded (will be fixed in next release).

I discover now all this is explained in a scirra tutorial ;-p ... so the only thing interesting here is the use of the "import feature" which make your font embelled in your project.

    * this font is a shareware font please contact author if selling a project using it (DS-Digital by Dusit Supasawat)

    ENjoy !

  • *delete* look at next post ;-p

  • ;-p sure you really love pixels ;-p

so perhaps i will try too give you more details now about my feelings

I think the hearts take too many place on top of the screen ... the size is good but too many space is lost between each heart ... i think it could be better if with max # of hearts (9?) ... the hearts never take more than 50% of the screen width ... hearts could overlap each others too it's not a problem at all ... for me a beautiful heart is something like that ....

<img src="https://dl.dropbox.com/u/74282909/heart.png" border="0" /> (i try to keep your sprite spirit for design).

  • Ok i wait the next release ;-p

About "alert" mode ... use a very classic system used to make ennemy shoot at players such as drawing a line (limit in range) from zombies eyes toward the character ... if the line "touch" nothing or something which is not the character (the zombie himself or something else) the player can be seen so no alert ... if so "alert". Sure there is many example of this system on the forum, simply search "shoot / line of sight".

  • You can find here a demo to better understanding the subject =>

    kaazing websocket remote iphone

This is a plugin idea using the kaazing websocket engine in C2 (or something like that) to bring a way using a mobile (ex : iphone) as a input device for browser html5 games running on another platform ... as you can see in the above sample (webgl browser required), a pin code is created by app and use to validate the access between the game and the remote device ...

But more than only provide this cool access, i think this plugin could be embelled in a C2 project with some pre existing objects (joystick, buttons, sliders ...) and also give a way to create a unique look remote app which give the feeling that this mobile app is a extension of the main game and not a simple "plug" ... so it could be interesting for many C2 games running on desktop browsers where for example "orientation "device" support could add value to game.

I'm not a expert... but i think this is possible and it's a cool concept too !

So i want to have your feelings about this and if someone is interested by creating this plugin i'm ready to give some of my time to help bring this project to life ...

    Thanks to read me ;-p

  • You have not choose the most easy kind of game to do ! sound is really actually a part not at all managed in the same way using such or such browser.

Focus on only one browser such as chrome and preload your sounds ... you can also start all your sounds first and put them all in a muted state so you can start then all without latency unmuted them.

But if you choose this project like another just to learn C2 and because you love sounds/music change your mind ... i think you will put to many times in it for a result not working everywhere or/and not using the same method.

  • Yes it's me again Erndog2k ! (the jazz jackrabbit fan) ;-p

So i see many improvements in your game since the first release .. you bring more life to the character (sleeping when doing nothing) ... seems that sprites are better too ... but really you can change the "hearts" sprite for something more beautiful now ;-p ... ground too ... but it's better ... the trees move seems really good, sound part too ;-p the game concept isn't very clear ... a shooting games or a mario coins game ? ... perhaps try changing coins for something else ... that give a strange feeling as if your put in this game everythings you are already done or use in others ;-( ... i think there is perhaps something to change with this huge pixel clouds in the tiledbackground ... something more blurry as smoke and only from the top most part of the sky. i like some little details such as the skeleton in the ground ;-p

Another thing ... zombies are sometimes in "alert" mode even if you don't see them ... and even if looking in the opposite direction ... it's quite strange ... perhaps this new "slinter cell" like stealth game feature is a good new way that bring something new to your game ?

  • In fact all "real games" are turn based games ;-p ... but computer turn-based games are now very unusual but still exists (heroes of might & magic series). I like this concept too ... i found now too many web multiplayer games wanted to make you connect all the time for doing actions or loosing because other players do so ... this no life concept is not good because you are playing more to avoid frustation when loosing than because the game give you great pleasure when playing !

Yes the IA is really the "hard" part of this kind of games unless you make a full multiplayers with no computer ia turned based game.

for "Real" games turn based ... such as strategy games, wargames or board games they become quite unusual too with time ... too many rules too know, taking too much time etc ... but perhaps some new technology can give a new life to those concept such as "ePawn" ... so computers can bring a new life to classic "paper/carton" games and you can play without spending time with real friends on your table ;-p

So the turn based concept is not dead and even can become again very used in a few years ... perhaps hmtl5 quick dev concept can help doing this kind of new gen computer assist games coming soon ;-p

  • The first clue is simple to find ;-p ... but it think my lacks in english is a brake to go further ... ;-(
