  • slapro,

C2 allows you to make and export games for Android, iOS, Windows, the web and many other platforms.

You don't need to have a C2 license to create and export games. However, buying a licensed copy of C2, expands the game making options available to you.

    Hope that helps :)

  • harrietrc,

The different audio files are generated to allow for the different formats used on various platforms.

Not sure which format goes with which platform, but it should be fairly easy to find out.

    Hope that helps :)

  • Arcanebits,

Having same problems with the CocoonJS Launcher!

I've tried launching projects made with r128.2, and it just exits. But when I try launching a project made in r116, it works fine?

Not sure what's going on, I tested these same projects only yesterday and they were okay (haven't made any changes since then).

I did have a similar problem when CocoonJS launcher stopped working a few days ago. I tried it again next day and it was all fine again. I'm just hoping the same applies this time!

  • Hi sosensible,

Along with Layout.Width, and Window.Width, C2 also has a ViewportLeft, Right, Top and Bottom for you to select.

    Hope that helps :)

  • Knifegrinder,

    Wow +20fps, impressive gains!

My game already runs okay, but there's always room for improvement! Any good optimization tips you can pass on?

  • thehen, PM sent :)

  • thehen - thanks for the info, I'll give that a try!

Do any of my testing observations help to solve things for beufreecasse Knifegrinder?

Please let me know if anyone needs me to do any further testing! :)

  • beufreecasse, thehen, Knifegrinder - I've been testing on my HTC 8S, and it all seems to be working well!

I used the updated tool for my base64 encoding. It quadruples the .js file size, but everything is running fine, and I have +100 images in my game.

    Hope this info helps!

  • thehen, thanks for the very useful tip! It has improved the games performance. Now just have to tackle the tedious task of base64 encoding every image GROAN!!!

beufreecasse, fantastic work on the encoding tool! Hopefully this will save a great deal of time.

    Thank you!

  • thehen,

Never mind, I was originally looking at a very simple c2runtime.js. I've now checked a larger project and there are LOADS of references. Now I understand why it's such a pain in the <img src="smileys/smiley35.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> !!!

But essentially, I'd just need to encode each image using the tool you mentioned, then update my code with the base64 string that was produced? Is that about right?

  • thehen,

I'm always interested to learn something new, and I just had a look at the c2runtime.js file. I could only find one reference that matched the example you gave above. So is this the reference to all of the projects images?

If so, does this mean you just need to run your images through the encoder as a batch, then use the base64 code or string that's created to reference them, or is there more to it than that?

    Thanks.

  • thehen, Ahhhh! base64 encoding images directly into you c2runtime.js. Sounds complicated, not sure I'd know where to put anything!

beufreecasse, if you can come up with a tool to do this automatically, you'd be a C2 Superstar!!

Good luck, I look forward to seeing the results.
