  • Still can't get it to quite work. I've made it a layout containing all the images I need as the default layout and as soon as that layout has finished loading I load into the layout I want to use.

    The images don't show up anyways. Got the images set to global as well.

    Okay... All of a sudden it works. I dont know what I did or how I did it but I'm not touching it again, lol. XD

    I suspect it had something to do with the layers.

  • I think I have it figured out. The player will need to have been in the layout where the images are in order for it to work.

    I suppose I could have a layout with a black image overlapping all the images I use as a sort of loader and use that as the default layout?

    Seems rather hack'ish. Is this the way we are supposed to do it?

  • Currently I have a testroom for my game where I've added a pause functionality. An image saying "Paused" pops up in the middle of the screen. This works great in the testroom.

    However the image won't show up in other layouts. Is there a way to make it carry over to other layours or will I have to add the image to every single layout?

    I've included the event sheet in the new layout as well so the pause works but I just don't get the image.

  • Even if I remove the Overlapping-event it will still only print the first letter. Must be something wrong with this behaviour and plugin then I suppose.

    I was looking at using the basic triggering of C2 to get the typewriter effect but it would need extra triggering and objects so it did'nt seem like a very viable solution.

    Having to have extra textboxes containg the text you want to type into another textbox is just tedious and will lead to extra clutter.

    I suppose I'll just have to wait until C2 supports this behaviour or find another way to display my text.

  • So I wanted to use this behaviour for a nice typewriter effect for my text in the game. However it only seems to print the first letter of the text and then nothing more when I have it under the event I want it under.

    If I just put the event under the On start of layout event it all works. Not sure why this is.

    Here's what my events look like:

  • Nevermind... My stupid self didn't think. Forgot that a behaviour is something you need to add to the object before it shows up. :)

  • I downloaded the rex_text_typing behaviour so that I could use it for typewriting effect on my text. However it doesnt seem to show up when I try to use it in my own project but when I load the example project I can see it just fine.

    Have I missed something?

  • Seems to work fine in your example. But when I try to use it my example the arrow that should be pointing towards the object only stays in the top left corner. :/

    To make it easier to understand. The arrow stays in the top left corner and appears to be working correctly. Like pointing towards the object and all but it just doesnt stay at the edges like in your example.

  • What I would like to have is to have an arrow on the side of the screen pointing towards an object when the object is not on screen. As to tell the player where the object is.

    I've tried doing it with an inverted Is on-screen event and then compare the objects X position with the players X position and if it is lower I have an arrow on the left side of the screen appear until the object is on screen again.

    I thought this might work until I realized, what if the object is below the player? That would mean there would be an arrow both on the left side of the screen and on the bottom of the screen.

    so does anyone have any clever ideas how to go about doing this? Ideally I would like to only use one arrow and it should always point towards where the objkect is if it is not on screen.

  • This might seem very trivial but how do I do a branching condition check?

    I've tried doing it this way but it doesn't seem to work at all.

  • My question was originally a different one but I have changed as I found another way too approach the problem.

    Lets say I have two sprites with a drag and drop behavior. Now I want to add a bar or rope between them. How could I go about doing this?
