  • Good start. I would suggest some changes. I would make the collider of the enemy bullets smaller. actually make them smaller that the image of the bullets.

    Increase the acceleration of the player ship. A more responsive controll will make it more fun and give the player better chance to use his skill.

    This thread is dedicated to all the gamelike things that come to life through me learning construct 2. A lot of them are unfiinished or were never intended to be a completed games. I also want to post work in progres or ideas of bigger games here.

    One of the first things i build in construct. All assets are made by my fiance. There is a more recent verison of the game. I will upload it later.

    • moods and sketches -

    One of my goals is to make an ONI 2D prototype. But it is a way to complex game for someone with nearly no knowledge about construct 2. So i made this menu first. Just because i wanted to do something.

    Here i tried to make an attack that involves something like a physical sword...but i din't knew really what i could do to acomplish something like that. Still don't know how.

  • Hey this is an amazng game so far.

    quick and dirty toughts:

    • i would like air dash
    • better walking animation - speed is to high for the legmovement
    • if i hit attack and when i am pressing (still attaking) the other arrowkey its still attaking in the first direction

    it would make it easier if the direktion of the arrows would overwrite the attack oritaion. makes that even sense

    -make easier jumps and exploration in the beginning

    -jumping and attacking feels great.

    • i like the art direction so far.

    -do more with lighting in the environment dark caves sunbeams through the woods etc etc

    • reminds me of dustforce and thats awesome

    sorry for all the mistakes but im dead tired.

  • first of all, sorry for the late reply.

    What I mean with flying bullets is more or less a projectile that is outside the weapon. You can see some exapmples behind the link.

    If I want to use your explosions in a shooter game i would love to have some other effects in the same style.

    i will use some of your explsions i my next prototype. will post it here when its playable - if i don't forget it.

    explosion 1 is broken when i try to import it as sprite strip.

    maybe i am doing something wrong.... never used sprite strips before.

    suggestions for more stuff:

    muzzle flash, flying bullets, bullet shells, fire, laserbeams, sci fi weapon stuff...

    just some generic topics

    somehow I could't find the solutoin via search. Maybe I miss something important or I am not patient enough.

    have this problem with a platformer prototype. I use the plattform behavior and animaitn trigger.

    Everytime I jump or fall and move in a direction at the same time. After touching the ground only the idle animation plays. It looks like the charcater is sliding on the ground. I don't get my misstake. It is really annoying.

  • I realy like the basic movement, its fun. And I really like the circle based UI.

    While using the main gun is really effecive(easily got 5000 points) the rockets pretty useles right now. while its destroys an enemy with one shot it disent gives you enough advatage. The col down is to high for that. I would say gove the rocket an area of effect and xperiment with the cooldown.

    And for the question of the right controlls, i think more options would be better.
