Largely due to users on this forum starring the relevant bug report, Google devs are looking into the janking issue that has affected Chrome, Crosswalk, and NW.JS.

However...there's more you can do to help.

If you can spare a little more time, please go to this link and run the test described (it's post number 97):

    https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issu ... 422000#c97

Yes, it's more work than starring a bug...but this is what really helps Google to fix this problem, because without data they are blind on this.

  • I'm using chrome mobile v40 on android. I get this when I preview over wifi:

    [attachment=0:14u5q74m][/attachment:14u5q74m]

Game never starts after this, just a black screen. Tried my own project, and space blaster. Firefox for android starts without issue.

Before I file a bug report, anyone else see this?

  • We can seeeeee you...

    Welcome aboard.

  • Code in C2? Sure you can...use the plugin system!

Seriously though, that's the way to go about it. If you are trying to do something that is proving difficult/overly tedious in events, encapsulate it as a plugin (or a function).

Think of events as a sort of 'Super Flow Chart' that orchestrates the interactions between modular bits of code in an intelligent, context sensitive way, making it possible to design your game and experiment with mechanics more rapidly.

I've seen a number of people complain that C2 can be initially difficult for people used to coding. Going the other way, it's a pretty easy transition though.

  • Yup. The stars seem to be working: the devs are back on board.

I just ran through some tests with the experimental build, plus stable/canary, and posted my findings in the bug report. Hope a few others will do the same.

Basically, it seems like the current stable is really pretty good; however, Canary has some odd monkey business going on that could lead to a future regression if it's not addressed. Here's hoping this will keep the fire on the dev team.

I posted there, but my thread hasn't gone live yet...

  • Elegant and beautiful. Good job!

  • DatapawWolf

Ah, ok, I see. I'll give your idea a try on my end too.

  • Animmaniac

Absolutely the best list of suggestions yet, by anyone. Bravo.

Please, please, read the above post. This is what C3 should be.

  • I've had some audio issues even with desktop Chrome. I need music to loop back at a certain point, and since C2 doesn't have that functionality, the only way is to immediately play another instance of the music, and set the playback position; but in doing so there is an audible pause.

    Related?

Well, we have that function, though I haven't tried it yet. Are you saying looping doesn't work?

    ^ Search for 'loop'.

In just 24 hours we've more than tripled the attention to this bug.

    Let's keep it up. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_arrow.gif" alt="" title="Arrow">

Done. This should also be posted to twitter, reddit, and other game dev forums. I'm sure there's a lot more html 5 devs outside of C2 who want to see this fixed.

Totally agree. I worked up a more generic version of my initial post and put it up on html5gamedevs.com, but it has to be approved first. Reddit is a good suggestion too.

Great! Looks like it's already getting some attention.
