  • wetkarl That usually means that you have double quotation marks. Take a close look at your code does it look like this ""text here" & newline & "Text here"" instead of this "text here" & newline & "Text here"? It happens to me sometimes when I copy and paste.

  • JonnyBritish I made a .xap with phonegap build, downloaded, and installed Windows Phone SDK 7.1. Then I ran the XAP Deployment Tool, and deployed my .xap into the windows phone emulator successfully without any problems. But I am not getting any audio on the emulator. Is this normal, is there a audio setting someplace on the emulator, or is this a Phonegap issue?

The game I used to test windows 7 phone build with was a one level stripped down platformer wip with a 158 objects. lol I know a little to much for a html5 mobile game but I just wanted to push the limits to see how windows phone 7 compared with android. Surprisingly the game runs very well I am getting 30 fps on the emulator which is playable. And with the same build on an actual android phone I am getting a fluctuation between 7 fps, and 25 fps which is unplayable. When a game drops bellow 20 fps it freezes, and skips at points.

I was wondering if Microsoft has any kind of factory direct deals on windows 7 phone devises for developers to use for testing purposes?

By the way I live about a 2 hour drive north of Chicago in Wisconsin <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • You could try a newer test version:

    Construct 2 Releases

  • Congratulations lucid!

That's a lot of money. Getting payed to do what you enjoy doing is like getting payed to have fun :)

  • Wow, Ashley you were exactly right. The problem was in my config file I was using a number in the ID of the export so I removed it and everything works just fine now :D I should have known that you cant use numbers in the ID from working with Eclipse.

Thank you very much for your help :D

O'ya I forgot to mention I really like the "Hide status bar" option you added. It makes the game look more professional, and fit's the screen size perfectly now :)

  • Hello

I haven't used phonegap build in about a month but last night I wanted to quick test a game I was working on, and when I try to install the apk I keep getting an error saying "There is a problem parsing the package".

I am using C2 87, and my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S. I have googled the hell out of this, and found about 30 different solutions that worked for other people but not me :( I have tried over 40 different installers, I tried downloading it to my phone with different email accounts, I tried downloading it to my computer, and installing it directly to my sd card. I rebuilt it over 100 times. Nothing works :( Is this some new bug with C2?

I can still install all my old games from phonegap. They were all built with versions before, and up to 80.2. I can also install any app off of the google play store. I just can't install any new game I build with C2 87, and phonegap build :(

Is anyone else having this problem?

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Is anyone even reading this?

    Help Please!

  • But how much money have you made off of a construct game?

$79 so far. I place 4th in the HBGames build and win contest, and won a Construct 2 Standard license worth $79 but I already own a Standard license so I gave it to someone that didn't win anything.

Do these games sell as easy as flash games? or easier?

I don't see why not. I have tried all of the known HTML5 game engines out there, and Construct 2 is by far the most advanced user friendly one on the market.

I haven't tried to sell any of my games yet. I am still working on developing the quality of my games. Once I am satisfied then I will move to the next faze, and try marketing, and selling my games.

I believe if you can make a good quality game it doesn't really matter what you made it with. A Construct 2 game should be able to sell just as easy as a flash game. It then becomes a matter of how you market, and sell your game which has nothing to do with the software it was made with, or the language it was programed in.

  • Your welcome OrdonianKing :)

You can't go wrong with Construct 2 :D

Edit: No it's not useless :) But you can do more with the Eclipse IDE, and phonegap.

  • Here is a tutorial that will help you get started with appmobi:

    Tutorial- Getting Started

    It's free :)

  • OrdonianKing Have you seen this thread yet?

    Furries

Furries was made by ranma. Try this game out once it runs perfect. It was made with C2, and PhoneGap. Then read through the whole thread ranma gives you all the information you need to get top performance using C2, and PhoneGap.

Or you could always try using appMobi.
