  • Joannesalfa well yeah that will work, but this is a simplified capx to show an issue with functions.

  • Problem Description

The capx is simple enough, but basically, it seems that functions don't occur in order with the event sheet when local variables are concerned. I'm not 100% sure that it's actually a bug, but it does seem a little unexpected. Hopefully I didn't waste too much of your time if this isn't a bug, it should be fairly easy to workaround using function parameters.

  • I would have to agree that it's a bit of a weird move to have that platformer tutorial require the paid assets. That being said, nobody's stopping you from creating your own quick crappy assets!

  • Going live now!

  • Going to be trying again at 7pm (About 30 mins from now). See you there! http://www.twitch.tv/indiemegabooth

  • Yeah, my internet decided to slow down to basically nothing right when I was streaming. Sorry guys. Should be fixed next week!

  • About to go live! twitch.tv/indiemegabooth

  • Hey all,

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'll be livestreaming development of Airscape: The Fall of Gravity tonight on the Indie MEGABOOTH Twitch channel!

I'll be streaming at 7-8pm EST tonight, and weekly on Wednesdays afterwards. Should be a ton of fun, and hopefully will give you guys a chance to see some dev!

    Hope to see you there!

  • Because Unity has a massive team and budget behind it, while C2 is programmed by one guy.

  • zenox98 The problem is, the crashing is so unpredicatable - I've gone weeks without crashes, then just today had two about ten minutes apart. I don't really want to work for two weeks without autosave since I rely on it to save me from these very crashes

  • Just to bring this up again, this is happening to me too, a lot more frequently. (Still using r168). It always happens while previewing and really weird things happen (Windows error sound plays multiple times, event sheet visually glitches). The computer I'm using is a gaming rig and extremely powerful.

I haven't counted objects, but my guess is it's around 500.

Let me know if you'd like me to send the capx file.

[EDIT] - here's a thought... what if autosave has something to do with it? Maybe C2 crashes if the autosave interval comes up right when previewing? Since it seems to happen without any user input causing it (i.e. in the background while previewing) this would make sense. I'm afraid to turn autosave off to test it however

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • This is definitely something I've noticed - Currently IMO a C2 game is pretty much unplayable at <60fps. I don't know what this is, but I suspect it's a combination of stuttering and maybe even some input lag?
