megatronx, the size of the layout, the amount of total objects, and the amount of objects on screen can all play a role. The size/angle/opacity of the individual objects should have no effect.
your 'heavyship' and 'lightship' are solid objects. Get rid of the solid behavior and it will work.

Performance on iOS is not amazing at the moment. It probably couldn't handle a large rpg map.

I'm pretty sure C2 uses numerous (properly licensed) third party addons. These are just random fragments of memory, but I think the image/audio compressors are third party, as well as the Closure Compiler.
This could all be wrong of course ;)
