  • I'd suggest looking at Construct Classic, then, as it's easily better than flash, in my eyes.

  • I am unsure if English is your first language or not, but the question could be worded better.

    I'll try though!

Construct Classic is completely free, and you can make commercial products with it. You can make your own engines and everything.

Construct 2 requires a license, either for standard use (recommended for hobbyists) or business/commercial (for a small company).

As far as using other third party engines, if someone has made an engine here and shares it, nothing is stopping you from using it, since it's all just built from the event system anyhow. However, I am not sure if that's what you mean.

You can make your own plugins in javascript and commercially market those to the Construct 2 crowd, though that is probably not the best way to do things.

  • Congratulations on an angel investment. Hope your hard work pays off in a big way.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • As was said, Zack made a function plugin (though that in no way doesn't mean you guys should not make one yourself somewhere down the road)...

Drawing tools would be nice, but I am going to have to voice my support for Families, followed by physics engine.

  • Ah, I see, thanks for clearing that up.

  • The movement is a little jerky when doing a 180, but all in all, I think this is not too shabby for two weeks of learning.

Like the design of the main ship, too.

  • I'm sorry, but I can't seem to get this plugin to work.

    Here is an example cap:

I followed your steps to the letter (though I might have missed something), but if someone can point out what I did wrong, or perhaps that I used an incompatible font or something, I'd appreciate it.

It gets boring using SmallFonts for pixelized fonts all the time, but I can't seem to get this to work.

Thanks in advance for anyone who wants to clear this up for me.

MSPaint has no transparency support, no wonder you're having trouble! I recommend Paint.NET.

Edit: watch out for the scummy 'download now' adverts designed to trick you. Here's a direct download link to help you: Paint.NET 3.5.8

    Many thanks, my good man.

  • That demo is as buggy as all hell, too.

Though, still kind of neat. I bet some folks will be all over it.

    lol, I use MSpaint.

It was nice that CC even catered to the total cheapwads like myself :D

I didn't know it was so hard (nay, impossible) to do such a thing on javascript and C2.

Now i know why such a thing wasn't implemented yet.

However, i still do hope that eventually there's a way to remove a single color from the animation editor, and have a blank space around the sprite (the transparency stuff?), like say, removing the black around this crappy sprite I made.

  • Hello all, this shouldn't be hard for some of the CC vets around here:

When using the 8direction movement behavior, there doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of the deceleration, ie, the sprite slowing down before completely stopping. I've tried fiddling around with several settings, but to no avail.

Is there a way to make movement so that if no movement control is down, the momentum is 0, so to speak?

You know, something like in say, R-Type or any other shmup, in which moving the ship makes it move, but letting go of the control brings it to a stand-still?

    Thanks in advance.
