  • Hi Rory,

    Thanks for your response.

My arm is healed fortunately and in the coming months I will undergo therapy to make the most of my drawing-hand. I will probably never have the precision to draw or paint again, but I will try.

Luckily I can still create folders, flyers and posters and an occasional logo. This game is just too dependant on graphics for me to make something out of it at the moment and probably in the future too. That's why I posted this thread, because I believe it could be great fun if completed.

  • Because of the overwhelming amount of reactions in this topic, I will not be able to answer every one of them personally. I've tried hiring people to answer them for me, but got just as many reactions to that question as reactions in this topic.

I guess this game was meant to never be made.

    Thanks for reading though..

Have you looked at the scenario plugin?

Maybe that will help you. Uses external program to write csv.

  • I've been throwing my fishnet out on the internet for the last month, but didn't catch much more than some apologies for not having the time.

First have a look at this:

    Leaving Nic's Vegas

Two months ago I broke my arm and in the process my hand was partially paralized. Working on the graphical side of this game, which depends heavily on the graphics, became impossible. Although I kept myself busy with less graphically dependent game-creation, I would still love to finish this game.

    So here's my question:

Would anyone be interested in helping me in the creation of "Leaving Nic's Vegas"?

  • Right now, every tick that gamestateflag = 1 a sprite is created.

system: trigger once while true, might be what you want..

  • Question:

Is there a difference between drawing a path or drawing multiple lines between points if rendering is concerned?

I'm fooling around with an animated version of connect the dots but can't get my fps over 20..

  • Sheepy I'm starting to see the possibilities this plugin has, especially for my above mentioned project. I'm just not sure how to implement them into my event sheet. Maybe this plugin (great as it is) is just a bit over my head at the moment.

  • Great example!

What I don't get is how the choice mechanism works. All three textboxes are instances of ChoiceText if I see correctly and you use a function call to see which of these is clicked?

It's probably very easy when I understand the workings of all of your plug-ins, but at the moment it baffles me a bit.

    Edit:

Let me show you what I'm working on, so you can understand what I was planning to use your plug-ins for:

in this topic you can find a first draft of my adventure-game:

    scirra.com/forum/leaving-nics-vegas-a-c2-adventure-on-hold_topic53078.html

  • I created the beginning for an adventure-game, which can be found in this topic:

    scirra.com/forum/leaving-nics-vegas-a-c2-adventure-on-hold_topic53078.html

It's not exactly the same kind of game-play, but has the elements you requested. I didn't use arrays, just text-boxes and instance variables. (on object clicked - if variable is lookat - set text to "it's wonderful")

  • If I understand correctly one could use this scenario plugin to make conversation-trees?

using the wait-function and changing the tag value on user-input?

  • Try Construct 3

  • As mentioned in the first posting, I hope to get back to this project when I'm able to create graphics again. Untill that time this project is on hold.

  • I don't know what kind of game you should make, but I've got a great name:

    "Don't mind me!"
