IMHO the official plugins should be regularly updated with the newest APIs. Since, I also plan on making some games for Kongregate, I +1 this.

Aphrodite that's a good point, and I think Ashley and crew need to make a decision, and then update their Construct 2 information page: https://www.scirra.com/construct2

It specifies Kongregate as a viable publishing outlet for Construct 2, but that is only true by definition, not by value. Deprecate or bust.

Same opinion here, if an official plugin is done for a service like kongregate it should either be maintained or deprecated after a while.

It is worth to mention that without proper, official Kongregate API support - the HTML5 export becomes void.

Newgrounds API (2nd biggest flash portal) has outdated alpha plugin made by 3rd party user who vanished from forums.

Gamejolt API - also 3rd party and very dated.

Without this - C2 is left with mobiles as the only and last valid platform (Desktop export is done via 3rd party wrapper and it doesn't have fully functional Steam API).

  • I was actually really hoping the new API could be implemented. C2 is a web game development platform first and foremost. This would help users publish on the very platform C2 is built around. The publishing-related plugins available are the only reason Construct 2 is useful more than Unreal Engine 4. Otherwise, that's a high profile engine that is significantly more useful.

Can't say I'm surprised in the end.

So after some time and testing... A friend of my who is making HTML5 games and posting them on Kong - is making 3 times more money. With the new API and ads. Meanwhile - we're stuck with 3-4 years old API in C2 and make 1/3 of the possible profits :\</p>

  • TheRealDannyyy shinkan Old news. Me and many others had been reporting this from like forever. No one gave a damn back then, and I don't think they started caring here and now. Plus, they are too busy adding that Xbox support that no one will ever use

  • Pokemon Kill - Screen Grab.

I smell a DMCA notice heading your way. It doesn't matter if its a parody or not - they make take it down anyway due to "brand hurting".

Bear in mind - I have nothing aganst you or the game. Looks good. I am just telling you how they do business. Specially Japan based brand. They got stuck in with their heads in age of 16bits. I've made a parody of Mario Bros some time ago. Gave them guns and lasers and stuff. It went down in 2 weeks after publishing. It was freeware.

  • > takamoto, I always love seeing 3D graphics in a 2D engine. It really shows what the Construct 2 is capable of

    yes

    buahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

    ha.

  • Irbis - Excellent artwork and animation! Very impressive

Thank you most kindly! I am giving it all I got!

Jesus, man! This is groundbreaking stuff together with your awesome Youtube video, where you just found some of the best soundtrack, which is totally complementing the game, creating the Event Horizon atmosphere. ) You have a blockbuster financial success on Steam, I hope!

All this coming from a person who has SC's Pkunk as his avatar? I cannot think of a bigger complement =) Thank you very much!

I am very happy about the audio. I mean, I started as an Audio-wiz. So I always pay extra attention to my game's audio. The game is far from what I would like to create - but at the same time, being just one guy - this is all I can do.

  • So try this example with included fx;

Hmm. Can't open the example capx because its higher version than my (latest stable).

But it works just fine and is pretty straight forward <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

Thank you most kindly Giga! I will remember. Hold your thumbs for my sake. If this project will work out - I'll send your share right away. You have my word.

  • Is something like this is good for you ... ?

    2 parameters here ;

    Bloody amazing! <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="" title="Shocked">

    Irbis

Ok just inserted this fx in my todo list ....

    Be patient..

Will do. Thank you most kindly

Once I am done with my current project, and it'll earn some money - I'll send some of my profit your way.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Wohow for necroposting! Gigatron could I please have a copy of that "page curl" effect?

  • Hmmm alright. So if neither of those two plugins (the old and your) works anymore - is there any other way to offset an image of a sprite or any other image-based object? Sadly, Somebody's Seamless Effect doesn't work well anymore and he left the forums.

  • That doesn't look the slightest bit aggressive much

And here we move to my 2nd flagship - lack of templates.

Because, you see, in real life - our brain learn new and new templates and updates the one we have already. We learn that fire burns, darkness is scary, barking dogs can bite, pink fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows are probably harmless and a erupting ball of wiggling tentacles might be dangerous

But in this world, this alien dimension... Everything is possible and everything is a stranger. That's why I love this setup so much. It really let my imagination roam and run. Because here, a fluffy butterfly might be the #1 most vicious killing machine, and a crawling blob of jaws and teeth might have a grass-chewing cow personality. So the player cannot depend on what the life and the world taught him because in this interdimensional limbo - the laws of physics, the rules constantly bend and twist. Forcing the player to abandon all known templates and learn the game world as an actual new world. Because old habits and knowledge will only get himself killed. And thats... how immersion is born.
