  • So I guess I'm just wondering if it'll be able to substitute coding for most people's needs.

It is. That's the whole point.

Ppl used to coding might feel lost at first, because most of the code is done with the mouse through the ACE table instead of actualy writing down hundreds of code lines with your keyboard.

But in the end, you can do as much with C2 (and I'd dare to even say more in the perspective of ppl not used to coding) than with a plain notepad and JS for example.

Also, once you start to get into complex expressions, it gets close to real coding imo, and coding-used users shouldn't feel as lost as in front of a blank even sheet.

  • My placeholder folder says "thank you again" and also "wow that's some nicely done icons !"

  • With a search with the keyword conveyor belt you can find other topics which already treated the subject.

You could make your belt out of several elements.

If you're more looking to a kind of "platform", use the current bar object as guide on which you will spawn an adequate number of conveyor sprites, scaled accordingly so it looks good (like keeping a good ration, not stretching too long, keeping the object's size to power of 2, etc...)

  • I've just launched the Ghost shooter example from the r76 (bottom left of the start page "Project examples" section), and set it up to fullscreen on (scale mode).

I can see the score text in FF 9.0.1 and Chrome on preview, everything works fine, even resizing my browser during the game.

Make sure that your text objects are on the UI layer and that parallax is 0,0 (this is is the intended way).

  • Indeed, as well as the list of most recent opened projects and the status of your license (free/standard/business), all supposed to be tied up in a nice looking page.

But tbh, it is pretty much the same thing as the regular menu (top left) so you won't miss much.

Glad to hear it's finaly working.

  • When you want/need to code, take the SDK road. Make your own plugin/behavior for your projects.

Nothing prevents you from it and you can somehow get the best of both worlds. You manage all your heavy lifting through JS code inside the plugin/behavior, you make it easier for yourself from within C2 to operate.

  • Om3n: I'm not sure to follow your whole idea/request, but for string handling you have several system expressions (like in your example sting.split is tokenat(src, index, separator))

It works with any string (coming from an array, a variable, a text object, or anything), was this what you were asking for ?

There are also several other custom plugins to help with such operations/stock but as Gauveldt noted, it's not the best solution if, for now, you're aiming to upload your game to Scirra's arcade.

Hopefuly it is just a temporary drawback.

  • Well it reminds me of this topic.

I know Brazilian portuguese is not exactly the same as "genuine" european Portuguese, but maybe is it close enough so both Brazilian and Portuguese can work together on building a forum/website/Portuguese community ?

I think there are quite a lot of users on the site that speak this language and IMO it is a matter of gathering/coordinating and building things up.

    Just a suggestion.

  • Make sure that in the properties of the 8 direction behavior you have set the "Set angle" property to "No".

    From the manual

    et angle

Whether or not the movement should also affect the objects angle. 360 degree (smooth) will always set the object's angle to the current angle of motion. 45-degree intervals will set the object's angle to 8 possible directions. 90-degree intervals will set the object's angle to 4 possible directions. No means the behavior will not set the object's angle at all, which is useful if you want to control this yourself with events (e.g. to make the object point towards the mouse cursor).

  • Use dropbox rather than box.com.

It works in every browsers and not in a chrome frame.

Box.com is really not a good choice to host exported projects.
