This is the wrong section for posting this. This is for bugs in the C2 software, not in the website Arcade.

The best place to post this is in the Website Issues section so Tom can see it.

  • If you have the skill, then download the C2 SDK which contains the templates for effects, plugins and behaviors. Then look at the SDK section of the manual to get some pointers, and look at the plugins and behaviors that come with C2 to see how they were created. There is also some very useful info in the Extending C2 section.

If you then have more questions about extending C2, that's the best place for posting in.

  • SDK for what exactly? For learning JavaScript?

  • You would test logic and gameplay manually using the built-in debugger and possibly a custom made debug layout that will show whatever variable or system information you require.

I can't see how you could automate this, or even why you would want to. Testing surely needs human input to make a valid reasoned judgement on whether the game looks and plays as you want it to.

  • The whole point of C2, it's main selling point probably, is that it is an 'event driven' system. There are numerous other more appropriate systems if it's actual coding you wish to do.

C2 does have a JavaScript SDK with which you can develop plugins to enhance the system. You would need to be proficient at coding beforehand to be able to utilize this.

  • Ahhh. I should really be more careful when reading a post Totally missed the randomly generated part.

The only other idea that comes to mind is to build your structures from smaller geometric primitives. That way, they can all have a default collision mask, and you can attach them based on (multiple) image point location.

  • A screenshot would help us to see the problem, but a few suggestions:

Click the 'View' tab on top left of window.

    • Are the relevant options ticked for 'Project bar', 'Object bar' etc?

Are you on a new layout that you've just created?

Have you tried 'Reset Dialogs' from Preferences?

If still no luck, attach your .capx to your post and we can see the problem much quicker.

  • You could just use invisible dummy sprites.

  • Just put a space in the url somewhere.

  • You don't say what tutorial you are following, but at a guess, if it's the tutorial I'm thinking of, then you just need to make the 'AvailableDirections' array global when you've duplicated the level.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • If it's a .capx, then use a program such as winzip or 7zip to unpack the .capx to a new folder. Edit the .caproj file using a program like notepad and find the xml line:

    <saved-with-version>16900</saved-with-version>[/code:ioy6vv72]

Change the version from 16900 to 16800 and save.

Double click the .caproj to launch into C2 and re-save as .capx.
