Rexx has provided an online demo, but IMO it doesn't offer any advantages over R0j0's version. It's just a matter of preference.

Having more than one option of doing a particular task is never a bad thing

I use firefox all the time, so can either of you post a simple .capx that is broken so I and others can also test? Will either prove/disprove if Firefox bug or driver bug.

Have you installed the separate node-webkit installation found here https://www.scirra.com/node-webkit ?

This has been needed for a few builds now, and if you haven't installed it, you should really start reading the release notes.

Unfortunately, Ashley's tutorial uses graphics that are only available to users with a license, which I always did think was a useless introduction to the program - causes new users to get frustrated instantly as they haven't got the necessary graphics to continue (@Ashley why?).

You can always do the other very good platform tutorial - https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/243/building-a-platform-game-a-beginners-guide - which provides everything you need to complete the tutorial.

What help do you need? You don't really say what the problem is.

Try posting a .capx or at least some screenshots with a clearer explanation of what your problem is.

You need to follow the bug reporting guidelines or this will be closed automatically. No one can help you with the information you have provided, and it's most likely your system or there would be many more reports.

Post a small .capx that shows the problem, then others can test and either prove, or not, whether there is a bug.

Overly aggressive anti-virus? Maybe heuristics detects temp files and deletes or locks occasionally when shouldn't?

You don't need any plugins at all to do Tetris. Just do a search and you'll find a few versions, one of which from R0j0hound that only uses 48 events.
