  • If you are using the free edition, sushin's solution will save precious events, just be sure to add the key press as a condition in addition to the "if" checks.

  • If you're doing this the way I think you're doing it then I believe I've encountered a similar problem before.

The solution for me was to have the pause/unpause key toggle the boolean global variable instead of setting it to 1 and 0 because what happens is Construct will run through the events and the last even to be executed will have the final input on what the global variable will be.

    Here's the solution:

On "p" pressed: toggle boolean global variable

subevent: boolean global variable = 1: pause

subevent: boolean global variable = 0: unpause

  • Sorry for the double post but I figured it would be better double post than start a new thread since this was pushed back to the third page.

After further experimentation, I've managed to load a text file with the AJAX plugin. This, however, requires the text file to be imported into the project files and doesn't allow for the creation of additional text files.

  • Hi folks!

After crawling through forums posts and multiple searches without success, I've finally decided to simply ask the community for help instead.

As the thread subject states, I'm trying to save and load multiple text files (not all at the same time, however) but it's a task I've not been able to conquer ... yet.

Why do I need to save a load multiple text files? I intend to create a program for language practice that will use text files exported from other programs such as Pleco and Anki or the user's own custom dictionary.

I think what I need to achieve this is the Node-Webkit but after trying it out, I can't even get it to save a text file.

I tried creating a text file named, "Test1.txt" containing the text, "test" but a hard drive search for the file returns 0 results.

System - On start of layout

NodeWebkit - Write "test" to file NodeWebkit.UserFolder&"Test1.txt"

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

  • Let's call it "Botox Viagra." Those seem to be really popular search terms on Google. It's like free advertising.

I probably just called every spambot for miles around to this thread, huh?

    bahahahahaha

  • +1

howl's moving castle is definitely amazing!

so is any other studio ghibli movie for that matter!

  • based on the video, that actually looks pretty good. I recommend extending the levels to add more exploration inbetween the gun fights unless that's actually there. I also noticed that the bullet casings simply fall down after being used rather than falling all over the ground as they usually do so maybe a change would add a subtle improvement.

  • Wow that's a great job there, it did everything I expected it to do.

I haven't done stairs in Construct yet. But in some of my past projects I always had the stairs graphic tilted at a bit of a perspective angle. That way I could just throw down a sloped collision block and the player would run up them normally. It's just an optical illusion, a cheat but it looks good and can save time unless you really do need perfect stairs.

    I like this way best

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • the gun with the large ammunition rounds looks like it would pack quite a kick powering the large shells so unless she has something to deal with the recoil, she should probably use both hands to handle the gun

  • I'd recommend something similar to how tigsource conducts their community game making

ie. baldings quest and indie brawl

    http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?P ... &board=8.0

  • hahaha this tickled me, thank you.

  • That's pretty awesome, MJ! Some definite gems there that i'm seeing for the first time.

    Great job!
