  • Thought i'd put my update here in the new section.

    Get That Ball In

    UPDATED BETA 06: No biggie really just another Level and some more cleanup inside the events. Also updated the instructions with some Gameplay TIPS.

    UPDATED BETA 05: Added another level, Added ANGLE so now you can see what Angle your aiming at this just adds a bit more visual assistance for repeating shots,

    Also altered the Controls a little bit, Left Mouse for Power, but you can release left mouse and it won't fire until Right Mouse is clicked, The REASON for this is some of the levels require TIMING and if you need 250 power and timing it was too hard,

    Removed Password System and added a Level Select Screen, Also added an Instructions screen, And a bit of tidying up in the events side.

    UPDATED BETA 04: Not much just added power to hold left mouse button down and release to fire as suggested by sqiddster

    UPDATED BETA 03: Added New Level with WIND EFFECTS

    Also added PASSWORDS for LEVEL SELECT, when you complete a level you'll be given a 6 digit number, just enter them if you return later to go back to last level.

    NOTE ON PASSWORDS: The way i've done it is using a VARIABLE and when you put in certain numbers they add up to a total, if that total is a match for a level you goto that level, As i couldn't figure out how to input strings and check them, as i'm still new to this. But hey it works for now.

    TODO: More Levels, Better graphics, and a bug to wait for when balls stop moving.

    UPDATED BETA 02: Collision changed to Circle thanks to Kyatric for letting me know.

    Changed to different server for better working of the game, Audio now Works.

    Updated Level 3... Now it's a bit harder.

    ToDo: SoundFX need altering abit, Add more Physics Stuff, Like Wind, Magnet, More Levels.

  • I dunno about your server costs and bandwidth, but how about a place for members to upload Capx,Plugins,Behaviours,Graphics etc to share with other members, this would build a valuable resource for C2 and CC, especialy for new people to this.

    Maybe you could have when items are uploaded options so they go into catagories and be able to add a small description.

    Alot of other game creation sites have this, and it beats tralling through forums for stuff that people have released for the public to use.

    Like i did a basic Defense Engine (yeh very very basic) but things like this could be uploaded and you get a good set of resources on your site.

    Just a thought..!

    Ok i'm sort of getting the hang of this a little bit more each day, So i have created another game called Get That Ball In.

    I wanted to create an ADDICTIVE GAME simple,fun and had a comeback again appeal, i re-created Blitz as Bomber which i love and bigcatrik has kindley taken this on to better it in so many ways with graphics and so on.

    So now it's time for me to do a full game thats addictive,fun and has comeback appeal. So here it is.

    The idea is simple you have power and angles and you fire a ball into a certain part of the level, of course there's obsticles, at present only 3 levels, but many more coming soon.

    I know it's not perfect in the physics, but i have more to add such as Wind, Magnets etc, i hope you enjoy what i've done so far.

    Tested in IE9 on my PC and it seems fine from here, if you find any bugs let me know, i have tested and tested but hey you never know.

    Can anyone let me know if the sounds play ok, there is menu music and soundFX, as online i don't seem to here anything in IE9 or Firefox but all the correct files are there, and could be just my PC/Internet

    If anyone wants to make me a graphic for the ball launcher i would be very greatful and credit you of course.

  • Ah thankyou... but i don't have a speed.... The ball is using physics and i can't see any speed settings.

  • Ok say you have 10 balls and your gonna throw them 1 at a time into a hole, and to complete the level you need to get 5 of them in the hole.

    So there you go throwing them 1 at a time and after you have thrown 9 balls you have got 4 in the hole so you need to get the last one in,

    and in your code you have if Ball = 0 and Score < 5 then it's game over,

    and if Ball = 0 and Score => 5 the you won.

    What happens is as soon as you throw the last ball, the ball count variable is now 0 so it's game over, BUT your ball is still bouncing around and may go in the hole, so you need this to be game over after the balls stop moving

  • How to i set a condition to test if a sprite has stopped moving...

    What i'm doing is testing variables e.g.

    if ammo = 0

    and score < 100

    and sprites have stopped moving

    display (visible) sorry you need 100 to goto next level.

    All works apart from the sprite hasn't stopped moving before text is displayed, BUT the sprite may make that 100th point you need to finish level as it's bouncing about still. So the conditions need to be met after sprite is still.
