  • I think Jack will think he's going to be the new guardian and after some "I don't wanna, poor me" stuff he will begrudgingly agree, and then he dies and it turns out Hurly is the new guardian. Then Hurly does some time-bending magic stuff that makes all the alt-reality stuff that's going on right now be actual reality.

Also Locke/Man in Black/Smoke Monster will get off the island but they will trick him into returning somehow, like he ends up on Flight 815 right before the crash or something.

That made no sense... So that will definitely be the last episode of Lost

  • Now that they introduced the flash sideways we have 2 sets of all the characters, and all the character from the flash sideways seem to have all happy storylines I think all the regular characters on the island will die. Semms like an easy way to sum up the story, Show all characters living happy lives in the other universe/dimension, kill all characters on island, and people won't be too mad because we gave them a taste of the cast living happy lives.

Either way it will be a MindF**K, how else would they rap up Lost.

  • All I can say is Fail, I was on from 9:30p.m.(A little later that i was going to) to 12:10 a.m, and the largest amount of people on was 22. *Sigh* I think the April fools k=joke was on the people who left the site open

Q ."Im looking for indie, and ways to make money being indie"

A . That's a hard question to ansewer, Indie developers make money from their games in many ways. One way is to self publish a game, and sell it with digital distrobution companies like BMTmicro. Another is to release it for sale on a platform like Steam, and soon Desura. Creative ways to earn money for your games. Release your game for free on your website, and use the traffic to your site to generate income from adsense, or adcents(not sure which way it's spelled) Or you could release a game on a website like Adultswim,Newgrounds and at the begining have a small add while the game loads to make money(Limited to Flash games)And the last way is to release your game totally free and include a donate button at the beggining of the game and hope people will donate to you.

"Many XNA indie games have not done so well in the past with marketing. I made a game with zombies in it profited 112k"

Yeah and many more games made little to nothing.

Also you have to pay a premium to make and sell games on XBLA(Pay for XNA, MS takes a % of sales) I don't know if you can sell Iphone/Ipod/Ipad Apps for free or not(Something tells me no). one quote is "you have to pay money to make it"

stick with what you know and just make fun games, money will follow.

  • After thinking about this, why not make your game in C++? There are many Packages that make game programming with C++ as easy as Construct (but you have to code them) All the messy graphics and sound are made easy, and you can even do full 3d with them. The only draw back is you have to pay for them, but $50 - $200. Though if you have a good enough game the price is not a factor.

The bottom line is if i wrote C++ games in those packages you can too. LOL

I can program in C++, I went to colege to learn computer programming. It's not that I can't it's that when I make a game it's usually for me and a few friends, so I use tools to make it easyier to do and save time. I'm sure there are many programs out there that make .cpp files for you, but if I was gonna do that I would just do it all from scratch. I didn't go to school for game programing, but I'm sure I could figure it out. The reason I've been asking all these people from steam and desura about publishing games made with construct like software is to bring to their attention the vast amounts of creativity out here, not everyone knows how to program, but a lot of people have good ideas for games and I don't think game development means you are set to using a high level language, I think people should be allowed to release their game no matter what they used to create them.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • He sent me a Beta invite, so far it's pretty much facebook, steam, blogspot, youtube, photobucket, and phpBB all crammed together. Don't get me wrong it works quite well, the interface is intuitive and user friendly, the presentation of contents is nice, and the community aspect is smart. there's not much to do there sine it's a beta and there are only 1 - 2 hundred people signed up, but from what i saw i was amazed at how it works.

some of the things I loved about it.

Navagation - it's really easy to get around, it feels like a web browser (Chrome, FF) home buttons and mutiple tabs.

Presentation - The UI is good, it's not flashy or overpowering, which makes it feel nicer.

Content Presentation - All Mods/Games have their own section with all kinds of content. When you click on a game it takes you to that games section, there are tabs Community, Media, Blog, Patches, About, Info. in the commuinity tab you will find the forums on that perticular game, under the media tab you find screenshots and even trailers, the blog tab has the developers blog about the game, and patches has a list of available patches, about gives you info on the game and developer.

some things I didn't like about it.

Structure - when you go to find a game a list appears none of the options are Indie games.

The Development tab - figuring out this system of adding games is not userfriendly at all

Publishing - in order to publish/sell your game on desura they tell you to use their program to turn a zip file in to a MFC file, which desura can change and update. it take a long time to do that.

  • I chose Pancakes because I really like pancakes and nothing can be better. I don't remember playing many iso games before.

    P.S. Waffles suck...

  • Right now it goes hand 'n hand with ModDB, but in the future they may become a stand alone client. right now they're an app that delivers ModDB content to you, but I think if the community grows and profit is made then they could go the stand alone way. The other question in my mind is how long untill Valve hears about this and tries to buy them out? but right now they don't stand to be a threat to Steam, due to the fact they don't have any licences with upper tier developers (EA, Activision, Ubisoft, ect) so we just have to sit back and see what happens.

    > Oh, lol. I just got that, how stupid am I.

    >

    I don't understand

It was a play on words lucid said to guyon "What if you end up being the only guyon here?" the joke was "guyon" as in "Guy on" I thought it was a typo at first.
