• I dont mind it at all folks. I just have no clue how to give myself a groovy Avatar.

Go to gravatar.com, create an account using the same Email address you use for this forum, upload your avatar to their site, and Bob's your Auntie's friendliest neighbour. :)

Then, when this forum loads a thread, it will check gravatar.com for matching Email addresses and display them accordingly.

I've always been a huge advocate of gravatar.com (see a couple of posts back, lol)

Well, having already said that I like the colour scheme and the overall design, and that the font was the biggest problem for me, I thought it was obvious that I was saying that it went from professional looking, to something that looks like a high school project.

The font would go a long way to fixing that, but I didn't realise that I had to spell it out.

But hilarious anecdote anyway (despite the fact that I'm in my 40s, and my parents are heading towards 80 )

And as for Gravatar, yes I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek.

I have Spam Catcher Email accounts for just such sign-ups, so it's not a problem.

Remember, sense of humour needn't be left at the door (unless it's as poor as your anecdote, in which case, please do )

  • Don't you think you're overreacting just a bit?

Thought this was a discussion forum, and feedback was wanted?

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

No you don't have to sign up to Gravatar if you don't want to, it's not a requirement. If you want an avatar, use it, if you don't, then don't worry about it!

Yeah, it was obvious that an avatar wasn't required to use the forums.

Clearly I meant that if a user wants an avatar on this forum, we have to use gravatar.

Like I said, no problem with the colour scheme, or the design.

    It's just that bloody font!

    Krush.

Edit: I would mention the implementation of a reputation feature, but I won't for 2 reasons: 1) Although people have mentioned it, I can't see it, lol. 2) I wouldn't want to upset Lucid.

  •

you can set avatar images at gravatar.com

What, we have to sign up to another site just so we can have an avatar on here?

    Really?

Yeah, it's just one site, and you can use that avatar on other sites, but why should anyone have to?

    Am I missing something here?

    These are improvements?

I really don't know what to think of this place anymore, lol.

  • Hmm, I have to say I'm not a fan of the new look.

The colour scheme looks fine, as any Colour Wheel would no doubt show, but it's the state of the font that's getting me down.

The style and size of the font just looks amateurish, and I have to scroll out 2 levels in Firefox just to get the forum looking decent enough to read.

I would have preferred you guys working on C2 rather than on something which could easily have waited 12 months.

A corporate identity is obviously important, but it has to look professional.

And there really wasn't any reason why the old look couldn't have stood until you were ready to release both C2 and the new look.

    Still, it's your baby.

  • Click on the character in layout mode to select him, and the panel on the left will have all the options you need to adjust his speed/jump height etc.

    Krush.

  • Yeah, you've posted your question in a forum that's for C1, in a thread that's about C1, so you should really have posted a new thread in the C2 section, or at the very least, stated that you were talking about Construct 2.

    Krush.

  • The Right-Click option is under Hide/Lock>Lock Selected

Maybe that's how you missed it.

    Krush.

  • I don't use the image editor in C1 very often, mainly only when I need to tidy things up or create place-holder graphics, but one thing that really annoyed me about the original editor was the tiny colour-selection box.

Unbelievably small, and ridiculously hard to get the colour you wanted by selection.

So please learn from this and make it the same size as you'd expect to find in graphics software.

A slight misrepresentation, there will be a free version of some description, details are be finalised on this

    Very slight.

He was comparing it to GameMaker, but free, so he was clearly under the illusion that C2 would be 100% free, which is what I corrected him on.

  • My dislike for Apple seems to just keep growing, even though I love my iPod Touch.

The only upside to it that I can see from that article is that

    (i) The patent may still be invalidated at some point.

(ii) Apple would have to prove that competitors have copied the finger-gesturing techniques to quite a high degree for them to win in court, which I believe most phones and pads don't because they're just based on the idea.

(iii) The courts could scrap the patent if Apple use it to stifle the market and create a monopoly.

I'm sure Apple aren't going to find it easy to control the market.

Are Apple really going to try and take on Google?

I'd love to see them give Apple a good kicking.

  • hm, i think i already read something about it, but i want know if they have any preview of a day to launch C2 to linux

I might be wrong (I'm not around here all the time, so I may have missed something) but I'm sure they said that the C2 editor will only be written for Windows.

The exporters allow the games to run on different systems.

and i got so hopeful to have a engine best than game maker and completely free in linux)

Also, C1 is free, but C2 isn't going to be free.
