  • Seems this is dead computer season. I finally got all the parts to build my new desktop, crammed all the cords in the case, turned on the power switch and watched as the PSU did nothing Gotta get another PSU. Laptop is still dead. My house is a computer graveyard.

  • Eh, I personally take a break from whatever is causing me anger issues. Taking a long walk in the forest helps.

This. I run and push myself a little harder than I normally would. Clears my head and helps me focus on maintaining my composure and direction. My family has a history of bi-polarism and, if not that, we have strong periods of highs and lows. Running has given me a constant and helped my highs from getting to high, and my lows from getting too low.

Keep positive influences around you, man. It's difficult when you're young, but in the future, if you did well, you'll be able to look back and see how much you've overcome, and it's an awesome feeling, especially knowing you can always keep getting more awesome!

  • I recently fried my only PC when I forgot to take the battery out while cleaning the fans. SPARK SPARK SIZZLE. Now I'm on a dinosaur laptop of my roommates. I think it's running Windows 3.1... I want to make games!

This is a sympathetic support group for anyone who has a fried laptop.

  • The game was really fun and made me laugh a couple times. Played through it in two days and really enjoyed it. I'm waiting on my now fried laptop to be fixed to get back and conquor 2P mode. The puzzles were DEFINITELY more simple than Portal 1. I really hope the level making scene takes off and gives us great challenges. There's so many more zany things that can be done.

Funniest part in the whole game (requires sound):

  • Love the updates! I used to think I was going to switch from CC to C2 at the end of the year, but at this rate, late summer is looking pretty good. Keep it up!

One more thing: whenever we get round to an OpenGL (desktop) exporter for C2, both the edge-smoothing and NPOT tiled background will carry over to that as well, since it'll use the same renderer.

I really hope Microsoft one day supports WebGL. I just caught of glimpse of Windows 8 and I feel like I finally have a target OS. Come on IE10! Give us WebGL!

  • I think a good definition of art would be any form of expression beyond function or need...

I like this, but I'm going to take it a step further.

"I think a good definition of art would be any form of expression."

You can't define "art" in absolute terms because everyone has a different perception of what they consider artistic. We try to turn our relativistic view of what-is-art into absolute terms by congregating: by using debate to try to conform others to our standard or seeking out like-minded individuals to form social groups. This self-affirmation gives you confidence and the act of engaging in "what-is-art" promotes social interaction. Who doesn't want that? Heck we might even be power-hungry enough to try to turn everyone on to our definition so it becomes the de facto definition of art!

Anyway, using my definition above, a brick laying on the ground is art because the brick is expressing itself as brick. I don't find the brick necessarily attractive so I'm not going to appreciate it like a finely crafted combustion engine or a room full of millions of origami cranes. Nonetheless, someone else might find it's isolation, it's brickiness, it's redness quite alluring and I most certainly can't deny that it is art - art to them.

  • Collecting 8 bit nes games,Parkour and Skydiving.

Do you really do parkour? How'd you get into it?

  • I've made sock monsters before

People absolutely love them and they are fun/easy to make!

Those are awesome, Tom. I commissioned my friend to make me an "Angry Grenade," but she moved to Australia and I lost contact with her before she finished. I still want my Angry Grenade.

  • I design small houses and ride adventure bikes. I love compact architecture and spend a ridiculous amount of time designing. if architecture wasn't such a volitile and time consuming career, that's where I could be.

Adventure biking... well, anyone whose ridden a motorcycle knows how incredibly dangerous and life threatening the death machines are... but also how exhilarating and freeing they are.

  • Awesome awesome thread. I've been using a version of the two minute rule for the past 3 years and it's amazing. If it takes less than two minutes, do it now. With everything in your life. If I have a million little things to do (calling credit card companies, gassing up the car, replying to an important e-mail, etc.) I can't focus on my project. But if all those things are done, my brain is clear and geared to work.

  • I like slowed paced, life based East Asian cinema. If you can't stand slow paced or black and white, you won't like 70% of these. Some of them my be inappropriate for those fortunate enough to be called young-in's, so check the ratings :

    -Red Beard (???) Japanese

    -Suzhou River (???) Chinese

    -Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (?, ??, ??, ?? ??? ?) Korean

    -To Live (??) Chinese

    -To Live (???) Japanese

    -Failan (???) Korean

    -Twilight Samurai (???????) Japanese

So many good movies out there...

  • Keep it up guys. Great work!
