  • You should be able to get it working on Linux using something like virtual box it?s free.

It also has a seem-less mode so it will hide the virtual Windows OS desktop but draw Windows apps over the top of the desktop of Gnome. Performance would be slightly affected. I tried thid in Contract Classic last year but it obviously had issue with directx. Shouldn't be a problem in contract 2!

  • I think it would be really advantageous having a choice to use Vector graphics as well. If not creation tools but some basic manipulation tools would be useful.

  • Fixed! Runs very smoothly on the old quadrofx card.

  • opened space blaster example c2r53

    click onto the 'game' layout

move around and zoom the layout with middle mouse button. there was a delay, window redraw would update after a few seconds and not instant as expected.

It's slow with the quadrofx card mentioned above but much faster on a different system with a gforce card.

  • It runs a lot smoother and a lot more usable on my home PC which runs Intel Xeon E5320, Vista 64-bit, 4GB RAM, and Nvidia geforce 8800GT. If it is the GPU then that quadrofx card is real old and crappy. I see this as a reason not to use Construct with it and stick to a gamer card.

    I'll have a chance to test a newer Quardro 4000 and maybe a firepro V9800 sometime soon just to see <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • loaded the space blaster example and the game layout view in Construct 2 UI is very very slow when scrolling moving the layout view.

    game runs fine.

    win 7.0 x64

    5GB RAM

    GPU Quadrofx 1500

    AMD Opteron 265

  • Shouldn't this be listed here

  • ok thanks Ashley. I see if that will work. I a want to create a parallax scrolling effect using 3 layers of tiled backgrounds. Otherwise Ill wait for an update build :-)

  • but how do you create an object using an expression statement. In construct classic you can right click System > Create Object and use an expression. In c2 I can't seem to do that?

    thanks

  • Anyone know the answer?

  • Is it possible in construct 2 to use expressions to create objects on the layouts? I want to use the for loop to create a series of tiled background repetitively in a row. Each tile graphic is slightly different. I want to use the for loop to cycle through a set of tile-background names. I can do this in Construct Classic but could not find a way to use an expression to do the same thing in version 2?

  • A proud paying customer towards Construct 2!
