  • Dude, naturally. As the best game designer in the world I have to use the best music.

And yeah, it's Construct. With a bit of python and a python library to handle the microphone input.

  • Yeah, the problem seems to be related to 64-bit setups. I'll keep trying to figure it out but I'm not sure what I'll be able to do about it.

    You're famous!

    Again!?

  • I've tried installing this multiple times on my Windows 7 32-Bit... Keep geting the same error message loop. 2 messages over and over until I quit the program.

I've seen this posted on a couple different boards so far... but decided to register and post on this one because I saw the creator chattin it up in this one.

I really hope this can get figured out as I really like the looks of this game...

    Thanks for your hard work!

btw... heres what the error message says

    Traceback (most recent call last)

    File "<string>",line 11, in<module>

NameError: name 'vee_vee' is not defined

ey man, thanks for posting. That "vee_vee" one is the second error message; let me know what the first one says if you get the chance.

I'm still trying to track down exactly what's happening so this would help me out.

  • Did you use a python lib to get mic input?

Yeah, pySonic. Not based on any intelligent choice, just because the chap sitting next to me happened to have the pyd handy. Too bad there's no microphone plugin, huh.

  • Try Construct 3

  • So for this past weekend's Game Jam I split off from my team to work on a prototype in Construct, using a bit of inline python. The reception it got was great and the Sydney judges awarded it Most Original, my favourite flavour of award.

Video of me presenting the game (the beginning is cut off but you get all the gameplay):

Aaaand you can get the game itself here: http://www.globalgamejam.org/2010/gnilley

So far Deadeye can't run it, but everyone else can. If you do get an error, please post the first message you get here and I'll do my best.

  • I started this as a two-hour one-level thing for Klik of the Month, then decided it was fun and spent the rest of the day turning it into a full game.

Move with the arrows, jump/attack with shift, and transform with ctrl.

Attack spread is linked to your power bar.

  • Updating it for the z-depth change is trivial but AFAIK support for 3Dbox pitch/yaw is currently broken, so I don't know if the effect is possible in the current build. (Mediafire's blocked in China and doesn't work over TOR so I can't see the above file.)

This problem is also why I can't work on my Zelda thingy anymore. Thinking of using this as an excuse to try out Unity, so that might be a good thing.

  • Awesome, sounds like I can stop switching between 0988 and 0993 for most things.

    Is 3D box still busted?

    Beat me to it.

  • Make a thread to drunk in.

  • Haha. As far as I can tell the only problem is pitch/yaw being unsupported for 3Dboxes in 0.99.3. I think that was the only thing preventing me updating the engine to take advantage of the transparency fix.

  • I think one of them mentioned a little bit about the engine (maybe not by name), but I don't remember which.

Davioware: from the testing I've done I don't foresee much of a problem.

Apart from the practical problem of whether I'll copy it precisely, making the whole thing flat, or make the cliffs actually vertical and have ladders you can climb. Which would be neat but I'm not sure if I could make it fit together.

  • So are pitch and yaw still not working with 3dboxes? Because I was hoping to update the Standard Waiver engine for a possible sequel I've been thinking about.
