  • It seems to have been related to Firefox's plugin container runtime leaking memory or something. I seem to have no problems after having disabled it being a seperate process.

So I guess take note, Construct users? But I don't know if this points to an instability once a game made in Construct itself gets really large to such a point. I think people have made projects far more intensive than mine, though.

    Disregard, for now!

  • Has anyone else had their porject suddenly get crashes with almost every new action or condition? Doesn't seem to happen in every event sheet, but it's still a fatal error.

I had the idea to switch the Windows runtime to Vista Service Pack 2 and it seems to work now, but I'd much rather not have it run that way because preview builds compile pretty slow in that runtime for some reason.

I wanted to know if anyone else had a similar problem and solved it somehow. It seems to be limited to my stationary computer and not my laptop, but my stationary didn't do this a few days ago. Could I need to update some drivers or something?

    Thanks.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Yes, you're doing a great job, Scirra! I don't seem to have half the problems with Construct that others do, and I love it.

  • In a very unprofessional response: Hell no.

I love that feature and it at least streamlines the process for me. I got used to where I should click to not make it start, and getting accustomed to that more than makes up for it. Have you used Construct for very long (and did you use MMF before)?

As an aside, in terms of Event Sheet bugs I think the "random selecting of lots of events" and "seeing the text in an action in chronological view is iffy" are more pressing issues.

    EDIT: Wait, it's YOU!

  • Well, I know Ashley said they'd be taking a few weeks off for, I guess, school.

  • Is that really that big of a problem? You could make one sheet that just includes a lot of other sheets and then start by including that "master sheet" whenever you create a new Layout.

  • I'm sure David would've found it but it sounds like creating new instances of global objects, but that's a bit too simple, right?

  • Two questions:

    1. How come your example will detect my joypad as input device #1 but in my project it detects it as #3, after keyboard and mouse? I've been looking at the code and there must be something I'm missing.

    2. Is it really necessary to distinguish d-pad diagonals as seperate buttons? Is it not possible to just make it detect that I'm pressing left and up at once as seperate buttons? Otherwise it seems like a couple unnecessary events I'd need just for the joypad support and the current game engine.

  • That's not what he means, he means "If 'boom.wav' is playing" which I don't think you can do without trickery.

  • I can also vouch for wanting support for many control inputs. There are so many computers that vary how many keys can be pressed at once on a keyboard so that just pressing left arrow and two buttons won't work. So only having the alternative of Xbox controller is kind of disappointing.

  • Darrrnnnnnn

  • Could someone make clear to me if this fixes families completely?
